Monarch Liberty Hospitality Pvt Ltd (MLH) has announced the appointment of Kersi Marker as its chief operating officer, marking a significant addition to its leadership team. A familiar name in India’s hospitality and F&B space, Marker comes with over 30 years of experience in building profitable and scalable brands.

His career spans leadership positions at renowned companies such as Bastian Hospitality, EHV International, and Massive Restaurants, where he drove growth across operations, marketing, customer relationship management, and team development. Marker also played a key role in introducing iconic international brands like Hard Rock Café, Pizza Hut, and Ping Pong to the Indian market.

MLH, led by founder and director Sumit Govind Sharma, has carved a niche in Mumbai with its distinct dining concepts, EVE, an all-day dining space blending global cuisine with laid-back sophistication across Powai, Worli, and Santacruz; Que Sera Sera, known for European comfort food; and TAT, which celebrates regional Indian flavours. The group is recognised for its sharp business focus, clear brand identity, and commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences.

Speaking on the appointment, Sharma said, “We’re at a pivotal point as a group, with plans to scale and sharpen our brand story.”

Sharing his vision for the role, Marker added, “MLH has built something honest and distinct. I'm here to take that forward with focus, structure, and consistency.”

With international experience and a deep-rooted passion for Indian cuisine, Chef Kailash is set to bring creativity, precision, and contemporary flair to the restaurant’s culinary offerings.

Most recently, he served as Chef de Partie at ROOH San Francisco, refining his expertise in progressive Indian cuisine. His international journey also includes creating Indian-inspired menus in Warsaw, Poland, and specializing in tandoor-based dishes at Namak by Chef Kunal Kapoor, Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi.

Chef Kailash’s earlier career spans prestigious Indian and Middle Eastern dining destinations, including Oven Hot Bakery & Sweets L.L.C Abu Dhabi, Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra, Café Out of the Box (Khan Market), Trinity Residency (Gurgaon), and Mojo Blu (Cyber Green). He has also contributed to several pre-opening projects, focusing on kitchen setup, menu development, and team training.

Chef Sarswat’s journey spans multiple countries and prestigious establishments. Earlier in India, Chef Sarswat honed his skills at AnnaMaya at Andaz (Hyatt), Eros Hotel New Delhi, Courtyard by Marriott Gurugram, and Jaypee Siddharth New Delhi, gaining a deep understanding of Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.
