Kochi stepped into the festive spirit with two bright and heartwarming Christmas Tree Lighting ceremonies hosted by Kochi Marriott Hotel and Crowne Plaza Kochi. Both events brought the community together and officially opened the doors to the season of joy in the city.
At Kochi Marriott Hotel, the celebration began with a lively gathering of guests, families and hotel associates. The evening also marked Global Customer Appreciation Week 2025, themed “Marriott Bonvoy – Travel Shapes Us!” Popular actress Leona Lishoy joined the occasion as the chief guest, adding charm to the celebration.
Speaking about the event, Sachin Malhotra, General Manager, Kochi Marriott Hotel, said, “We were delighted to bring the community together for this cherished tradition. Global Customer Appreciation Week is a special time set aside to express gratitude to guests and celebrate the relationships and moments we’ve had the privilege of sharing with them.”
The ceremony was attended by Sharon Raj, Multi Property Director Sales and Marketing, Nicky Esther John, Multi Property Marketing Manager, Syamjith Venugopal, Director Food & Beverage, and Suresh Baabu, Executive Chef.
Over at Crowne Plaza Kochi, the evening focused strongly on the spirit of giving. Children from Ashwasa Bhavan Orphanage were the guests of honour and received the first batch of freshly baked plum cakes and surprise toys, a promise fulfilled from the hotel’s earlier cake-mixing ceremony. The décor, including the gingerbread house and wreaths, was lovingly crafted by Raksha Society for the Care of Children with Special Needs.
The ceremony was graced by Sherly Rejimon, CEO, Milan Designs, and Mr. Benson Abraham, Director, KGA Group of Companies, as chief guests.
Sharing his thoughts, Mr. Dinesh Rai, General Manager, Crowne Plaza Kochi, said, “The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is just the beginning of what promises to be a season filled with joy, warmth and celebration. We have Christmas and New Year festivities lining up with curated menus and rich plum cakes.”
With both hotels embracing tradition, community, and festive cheer, Kochi welcomed December with glowing lights, warm smiles and the promise of a joyful season ahead.
