Le Meridien Goa, Calangute is making significant strides in sustainability by implementing various eco-friendly initiatives. In line with Marriott International's 2025 Sustainability and Social Impact Goals, the hotel has launched an in-house water bottling plant to reduce plastic waste. Single-use plastic bottles have been replaced with reusable glass bottles, which are treated and bottled on-site. This move is a major leap towards fulfilling their greener promise.
Addressing the issue of food waste management, the hotel has partnered with Welfare for Animals in Goa. Leftover raw fruits and vegetables are donated daily to support the sanctuary's cause. The hotel has also introduced the "no bin day" initiative to promote minimal wastage and educate internal stakeholders on responsible resource utilization.
Embracing electric mobility, Le Meridien Goa, Calangute has installed a rapid DC 60kW charging station in collaboration with ChargeZone, enabling guests to conveniently charge their electric vehicles. The hotel has also incorporated solar energy for water heating and has plans to expand its solar capacity in the future, demonstrating its steadfast commitment to sustainability.
In line with Marriott International's Serve 360 Initiative, Le Meridien Goa, Calangute encourages associates and guests to actively participate in its green initiatives. Simple choices such as reducing linen change frequency and replacing plastic bath products with refillable dispensers contribute to a more environmentally conscious stay.
Le Meridien Goa, Calangute believes that its actions can make a significant impact and inspire others in the shared responsibility of reducing carbon footprints. The preservation of the environment remains a top priority for the hotel, driving its ongoing efforts in sustainability.
