As the Philippines continues to emerge as a compelling destination for lifestyle and experiential travel, homegrown hospitality brands are increasingly taking centre stage. Among the brands helping shape this transformation is The Lind Hotels, an independent Filipino hospitality group that has built a reputation for combining authentic local hospitality with contemporary lifestyle experiences.
Traditionally overshadowed by larger hospitality markets across Asia dominated by international hotel operators, the Philippines is now witnessing the rise of a new generation of locally developed brands focused on design, wellness, personalised service, and meaningful guest experiences. The Lind Hotels has become one of the leading examples of this shift, demonstrating how Filipino hospitality can resonate with global travellers while remaining rooted in local culture and values.
“Our philosophy is that Philippine hospitality can resonate globally while still remaining proudly Filipino,” said Pierre Henrichs, Chief Operating Officer of The Lind Hotels. “Authenticity, warmth, creativity, and emotional connection are what travellers increasingly remember most.”
At the heart of the brand's success is The Lind Boracay, located on the exclusive Station 1 stretch of White Beach in Boracay. Known for its direct beachfront access and elevated guest experiences, the resort has established itself as one of the island's most recognised hospitality destinations. Beyond its location, the property has distinguished itself through a guest-centric approach that prioritises intuitive service, personalisation, and meaningful connections throughout the stay.
A significant milestone for both the property and the wider Philippine hospitality sector came in 2025 when the MICHELIN Guide officially expanded into the Philippines. In a landmark achievement, The Lind Boracay became the first and only hotel in Boracay to be featured by the prestigious guide, placing the independent Filipino brand alongside internationally recognised hospitality names.
Wellness continues to play a central role in the brand's evolution. Through its long-standing partnership with The Spa Wellness, one of the Philippines' pioneering wellness operators and the country's first spa brand to achieve Superbrand status, The Lind Hotels has strengthened its focus on holistic guest wellbeing. The collaboration brings wellness-driven experiences that emphasise restoration, balance, and mindful living, aligning with the growing demand for transformative travel experiences.
Over the past decade, The Lind Hotels has consistently refined its offerings across food and beverage, wellness, lifestyle programming, and personalised guest services. This commitment to continuous improvement became particularly evident during the company's tenth anniversary year, when it undertook a comprehensive brand refresh centred around human connection, meaningful hospitality, and experience-led travel.
The rebranding initiative reflected a return to the company's founding philosophy of fostering genuine relationships across every aspect of the guest journey. From interactions with team members and travel partners to supplier relationships and guest experiences, the refreshed identity places people at the centre of hospitality.
“As part of our ten-year milestone, we went back to the drawing board and asked ourselves where we were ten years ago and where we are today,” Henrichs explained. “The entire brand has been refreshed. More than anything, we wanted to return to the human side of hospitality and focus on genuine connection at every touchpoint of the guest experience. Hospitality is about continual improvement and adapting to what modern travellers are looking for.”
Looking ahead, the company's expansion plans in destinations such as Coron and Siargao underscore growing confidence in the future of Philippine tourism. These developments are aligned with evolving traveller preferences that increasingly favour authentic, nature-driven, and experience-focused journeys over conventional luxury offerings.
As travellers worldwide seek deeper cultural immersion and more meaningful connections during their journeys, The Lind Hotels continues to demonstrate how independent hospitality brands can create globally relevant experiences while preserving a strong sense of place and local identity.
“We believe the Philippines has the potential to become one of the world’s great hospitality destinations,” Henrichs said. “There is incredible warmth here, extraordinary natural beauty, and a growing confidence among Filipino brands to create experiences that feel globally relevant while still remaining distinctly local.”
With its focus on authentic hospitality, wellness, personalised experiences, and thoughtful expansion, The Lind Hotels is helping shape a new chapter for the Philippine hospitality industry while reinforcing the country's growing appeal among international travellers.

A new wave of elevated dining experiences is transforming Thailand’s rooftop hospitality scene, with three sky-high venues offering distinct culinary journeys that pair panoramic sunset views with curated food and beverage concepts.
From Chiang Mai to Bangkok and Pattaya, MAI The Sky Bar, LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar, and Yitong Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar are redefining rooftop dining by blending regional identity, global influences, and immersive design-led experiences.
In Chiang Mai, MAI The Sky Bar at Meliá Chiang Mai presents an “Artisan Thai Cheese & Wine Pairing” experience, available daily from 6 pm. The concept highlights locally crafted cheeses from Chiang Mai-based producer Jartisann, paired with Thai wines from Monsoon Valley in Hua Hin. The experience emphasizes seasonal sourcing and regional craftsmanship, showcasing Thailand’s evolving artisanal food culture.
The bar’s signature cocktails further reflect its creative direction. “MAI The Sky” blends lychee, vanilla, and cava foam into a golden-hour-inspired presentation, complete with a miniature aeroplane garnish. Another highlight, “Temple,” combines Siam Lanna Gin with Niem-Sompoi cordial, drawing inspiration from local botanicals and spiritual symbolism.
Recognized as a Tatler Best Spotlight Bar 2026 by Tatler Asia, MAI The Sky Bar offers 360-degree views of Chiang Mai, spanning the Ping River and Doi Suthep Temple. A glass bridge adds to the architectural experience, enhancing its reputation as one of the city’s most distinctive rooftop destinations.
In Bangkok, LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar at INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit is offering a daily “Social Hours” promotion between 5 pm and 7 pm, featuring two-for-one sunset drinks. Guests can enjoy selected wines, Chang draught beer, and signature cocktails inspired by Spanish and global flavours.
The venue also extends across two levels, including a 34th-floor rooftop space with a pool bar, infinity pool, and terrace overlooking the city. The design creates a unique visual connection between dining levels, offering diners an immersive skyline experience.
The culinary programme at LUZ has been refreshed by Spanish Chef de Cuisine Juan Ignacio García Racionero, introducing dishes inspired by Basque pintxos, Madrid-style tapas, Andalusian seafood, and coastal rice preparations, reinforcing the venue’s Iberian identity.
Further south in Pattaya, Yitong Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar at Meliá Pattaya Hotel offers a culturally rooted dining experience centered around its signature wood-smoked Peking duck served in Hong Kong style. The restaurant’s concept, “A Feast of Flavour,” focuses on family-style dining designed to encourage shared culinary experiences.
The menu draws inspiration from Chinese communities in Chonburi and features dishes that reflect both tradition and modern refinement. Complementing the cuisine is a cocktail programme infused with Chinese ingredients, including goji berry gin creations, rosella tea blends, and ginseng-based cocktails, alongside thoughtfully crafted non-alcoholic options.
Across all three destinations, the emphasis remains on immersive dining experiences that combine food, culture, design, and storytelling. Together, these rooftop venues highlight Thailand’s growing reputation as a global hub for experiential hospitality and sunset-led social dining.
