Lexicon IHM Welcomes Mr. Gurmeet Singh as New Principal

Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management (Lexicon IHM), Pune, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mr. Gurmeet Singh as the new Principal. A distinguished figure in the hospitality industry, Mr. Singh brings over 30 years of invaluable experience in human resources across various esteemed global hospitality chains. His extensive network and profound expertise are set to greatly benefit both the students and faculty of Lexicon IHM.

Mr. Singh's career began in the army, where he honed a disciplined and dedicated approach to his work. After his service, he transitioned into the hospitality industry, taking on leadership roles in the Human Resources departments of luxury hotel brands such as ITC and Marriott International. Notably, he was the first person hired by Marriott International in Mumbai, India, where he quickly established a reputation for setting high standards. His expertise in talent management and development will significantly enhance the educational experience at Lexicon IHM, equipping students with the practical skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the fast-paced hospitality industry.

Mr. Nasir Shaikh, former CEO of The Lexicon Group of Institutes, expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter in Lexicon IHM's journey. Mr. Shaikh regards Mr. Singh as both a senior and a mentor, acknowledging the invaluable guidance and wisdom he has imparted over the years. With over 18 years of experience across leading global hospitality brands, Prasad brings a strong background in talent development, leadership capability building, service culture enhancement, and colleague engagement. His appointment highlights Grand Hyatt Mumbai’s focus on nurturing a people-first culture built on care, continuous learning, and professional growth.

In his new role, Prasad will spearhead the hotel’s learning and development strategy, focusing on leadership development, embedding Hyatt’s values through a culture of learning, enhancing colleague engagement, and aligning training initiatives with business goals.

An alumnus of the Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai (PGDBA in General Management), Institute of Hotel Management, Goa (B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration), and Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai (Food Production Craft Course), Prasad has built an impressive career with prestigious hospitality brands such as The Indian Hotels Company Limited (Taj Hotels), InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), The Leela Kempinski, The Zuri Hospitality Group, and Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

Before joining Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Prasad served as Learning Manager at Grand Hyatt Goa, where he played a dual role, leading property-level learning initiatives and contributing as an ASPAC Master Trainer for Hyatt Hotels Corporation. In this capacity, he designed and facilitated impactful leadership and trainer capability workshops across the Asia Pacific region.

Speaking on his appointment, Prasad Prabhu said,
