Lionsgate Play is all set to release its latest Tamil and Telugu sci-fi thriller Kaliyugam 2064 on August 1, adding another bold title to its growing catalogue of unique regional content. Directed by Pramodh Sundar and led by powerhouse performances from Shraddha Srinath and Kishore Kumar G, the film delivers a gripping vision of the future where survival depends on courage, rebellion, and the human spirit.
Set in a dystopian 2064, Kaliyugam 2064 throws viewers into a chaotic world where basic necessities like food and water are scarce. Society has fractured into two camps, the "Residents" and the "Liberators", each fighting for their version of survival. In the middle of this tension are Shakthi (Kishore) and Bhoomi (Shraddha), characters caught between loyalty and survival in a future that feels both distant and disturbingly real.
Joining them are actors Iniyan Subramani and Harry, playing crucial roles in this intense, futuristic tale. With action sequences that keep the pulse racing and twists that challenge the mind, Kaliyugam 2064 blends high-stakes storytelling with thought-provoking themes about morality, trust, and resilience.
Reflecting on the experience, actor Kishore Kumar G. shared, "Being part of a sci-fi thriller like Kaliyugam 2064 was a first for me, and truly an unforgettable ride. While the story is thrilling and packed with action, at its heart, it’s deeply human. Our vision was never just to make a dystopian film, but to hold up a mirror to human nature, to explore what happens when basic comforts vanish and survival becomes the only instinct... This film pushes genre boundaries, especially for South Indian cinema, and I believe it will resonate more with audiences as time goes on.”
The film’s official synopsis sets the tone for what’s to come: a post-apocalyptic landscape, torn by desperation, where myth and machine collide, and survival demands unity in the harshest of environments.
Streaming exclusively on Lionsgate Play, the film continues the platform’s mission to deliver content that is bold, immersive, and genre-defining. With distribution across key platforms like Airtel, Jio FTTH, Prime Video Channels, Apple TV+, and more, Kaliyugam 2064 is set to reach a wide audience. The Lionsgate Play app is available on Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Amazon Firestick.
