LuxeGlamp, India’s pioneering glamping brand, has expanded its global footprint with the launch of LuxeGlamp UAQ, the first eco-tourism glamping resort in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located in the pristine mangrove reserve of Umm Al Quwain, the project signifies a new chapter in sustainable luxury travel in the Middle East.
The resort was inaugurated with a foundation stone ceremony led by Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain. The initiative aligns with the emirate’s vision of fostering responsible and future-focused tourism.
Spread across 50 acres, the LuxeGlamp UAQ resort features ten glass-domed luxury suites, each covering nearly 1,000 square feet, seamlessly blending into the natural landscape. Guests can enjoy private plunge pools, wooden decks, saunas, and hammocks, all offering unobstructed views of the Arabian Gulf and surrounding mangroves.
Antony Thomas, Founder and CEO of LuxeGlamp, shared, “LuxeGlamp UAQ is a celebration of what Indian eco-luxury hospitality can achieve globally. We're proud to share our nature-first design philosophy with the world.” A key highlight of the resort is Luxe Bistro, a fine-dining restaurant housed in a glass dome, serving a curated fusion of Indian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisines, prepared using local and sustainable ingredients.
The resort's sustainability features include:
100% eco-conscious design with no permanent structures, piling, or soil disturbance
Solar-powered operations throughout the resort
Construction using recyclable materials like tempered glass and aluminium
80% bamboo usage in wood applications
No single-use plastics
Interiors featuring Balinese aesthetics with local cultural elements
With this venture, LuxeGlamp introduces its signature eco-luxury model to a global audience. Known for award-winning glamping destinations in Kodaikanal (Tamil Nadu) and Munnar (Kerala), LuxeGlamp is now poised to redefine sustainable tourism in the UAE.
Founded by Indian entrepreneur Antony Thomas, LuxeGlamp Eco-resorts L.L.P is India’s first dedicated luxury glamping brand. The company is renowned for offering immersive nature experiences with minimal ecological impact while delivering the comforts of high-end hospitality.

Santiburi Koh Samui, the luxury resort by S Hotels & Resorts, has unveiled a revitalised spa concept inspired by the Sanskrit word “Shanti,” meaning peace. The newly reimagined Santiburi Spa aims to deepen guests’ experience of inner peace, transforming it from a fleeting moment into a profound and lasting state of well-being that realigns mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
The spa’s holistic approach offers guests healing treatments and programmes that balance all aspects of health. One signature experience, the “Journey of Samui” (120 minutes), combines natural ingredients and physical therapies including a coconut oil massage, foot bath, herbal steam, gentle coconut scrub, and concludes with a refreshing coconut water drink alongside planting a coconut tree sapling. Another highlight is the “Santiburi Synchronised Serenity” (120 minutes), a four-hand massage blending Swedish and Thai techniques, enhanced with a body scrub and warm Vichy shower for deep relaxation.
Santiburi Spa’s dedication to well-being is further enhanced through exclusive partnerships. The resort has collaborated with HARNN, a brand known for traditional Thai beauty rituals and holistic wellness. Together, they have launched the Santiburi Bath & Body Collection by HARNN, featuring the exclusive “PEACE” blend inspired by ylang-ylang and lavender, designed to ease tension and uplift the spirit. Guests can also choose HARNN massage oils for their Aroma Oil Massage treatments.
Adding to its natural health offerings, Santiburi Spa partners with the Moringa Project to incorporate moringa oil in massages and facials, celebrated for its nutritional and healing properties. Guests can enjoy a 120-minute treatment pairing moringa oil with clear quartz crystals to stimulate the immune system and restore bodily balance.
To deepen wellness experiences, the resort has introduced an ongoing Visiting Practitioner programme, bringing local experts to offer transformative sessions. The inaugural practitioner, energy healer Keerana Sripongpankul, provides emotional healing, reiki transformation, energy enhancement with singing bowls, and sound bath retreats.
“At Santiburi Spa, peace is the cornerstone of well-being — a principle that underpins all our treatments and programmes,” said Mr. Giulio Stix, General Manager. “We invite guests seeking inner peace to explore our refreshed menu, designed to nurture mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health in a balanced and harmonious way.”
Santiburi Koh Samui’s revitalised spa concept sets a new standard for luxury wellness retreats, inviting guests to experience true peace and holistic healing amidst the serene beauty of the island.

As Vietnam and Mexico mark 50 years of diplomatic relations, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has added a meaningful tribute to their shared history. On May 30, the iconic Hanoi hotel unveiled a commemorative plaque to honor its role as the site of Mexico’s first embassy in Vietnam between 1976 and the early 1980s.
The plaque was installed at Room 215, the former location of the Mexican Embassy, during a special ceremony attended by dignitaries and representatives from both nations. This unveiling is part of a broader initiative by the Mexican Embassy in Vietnam to strengthen cultural diplomacy and friendship.
“This gesture not only celebrates the past but also reaffirms our shared values of respect, collaboration and cultural understanding,” said George Koumendakos, General Manager of Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.
“It reflects the early presence of Mexican diplomacy in Hanoi and the values of friendship, solidarity and mutual respect that have guided our relationship ever since,” added Ambassador Alejandro Negrin of Mexico to Vietnam.
The hotel, which was then known as the Reunification Hotel, served as the diplomatic home for Mexico during a formative time in bilateral relations. The occasion serves as a reminder of the deep-rooted connections between the two nations and Metropole’s unique role in history.
To celebrate this legacy, the hotel has also revived its “Mexican Culinary Fiesta” at angelina, its signature cocktail bar and restaurant. Running from May 16 to June 15, this food and beverage experience brings a taste of Mexico to Hanoi with authentic cuisine, UNESCO-recognized culinary traditions, and bespoke tequila cocktails created by in-house mixologists.
Located in the heart of Hanoi since 1901, the Metropole is no stranger to history. The hotel has long hosted luminaries, statesmen, and cultural icons, and its 358 rooms—across the Heritage Wing and Opera Wing—combine French elegance with Vietnamese charm. Dining experiences here span from fine French fare at Le Beaulieu to local flavors at Spice Garden, Parisian street vibes at La Terrasse, and indulgent cocktails at Le Club Bar and Bamboo Bar.
This commemorative gesture and cultural celebration continue to highlight Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi’s role as a living symbol of international friendship and refined hospitality.
