LuxeGlamp, India’s pioneering glamping brand, has expanded its global footprint with the launch of LuxeGlamp UAQ, the first eco-tourism glamping resort in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located in the pristine mangrove reserve of Umm Al Quwain, the project signifies a new chapter in sustainable luxury travel in the Middle East.
The resort was inaugurated with a foundation stone ceremony led by Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain. The initiative aligns with the emirate’s vision of fostering responsible and future-focused tourism.
Spread across 50 acres, the LuxeGlamp UAQ resort features ten glass-domed luxury suites, each covering nearly 1,000 square feet, seamlessly blending into the natural landscape. Guests can enjoy private plunge pools, wooden decks, saunas, and hammocks, all offering unobstructed views of the Arabian Gulf and surrounding mangroves.
Antony Thomas, Founder and CEO of LuxeGlamp, shared, “LuxeGlamp UAQ is a celebration of what Indian eco-luxury hospitality can achieve globally. We're proud to share our nature-first design philosophy with the world.” A key highlight of the resort is Luxe Bistro, a fine-dining restaurant housed in a glass dome, serving a curated fusion of Indian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisines, prepared using local and sustainable ingredients.
The resort's sustainability features include:
100% eco-conscious design with no permanent structures, piling, or soil disturbance
Solar-powered operations throughout the resort
Construction using recyclable materials like tempered glass and aluminium
80% bamboo usage in wood applications
No single-use plastics
Interiors featuring Balinese aesthetics with local cultural elements
With this venture, LuxeGlamp introduces its signature eco-luxury model to a global audience. Known for award-winning glamping destinations in Kodaikanal (Tamil Nadu) and Munnar (Kerala), LuxeGlamp is now poised to redefine sustainable tourism in the UAE.
Founded by Indian entrepreneur Antony Thomas, LuxeGlamp Eco-resorts L.L.P is India’s first dedicated luxury glamping brand. The company is renowned for offering immersive nature experiences with minimal ecological impact while delivering the comforts of high-end hospitality.

Prestonfield House, a name long cherished in Edinburgh for its grandeur and timeless charm, has officially joined the prestigious Relais & Châteaux family, becoming the first hotel in Edinburgh to achieve this milestone.
This recognition isn’t just a badge of honour, it speaks to the property’s dedication to heritage, craftsmanship, and warm Scottish hospitality. Nestled within a sprawling 20-acre estate, the hotel is a serene retreat where Highland cows, peacocks, and ancient trees set a scene that feels both regal and rooted in nature.
What truly sets Prestonfield House apart is its location. Just minutes from the heart of Edinburgh, yet hidden at the base of Arthur’s Seat, it offers a rare mix of city access and countryside tranquillity. Its 17th-century Dutch gable façade and historic interiors reflect centuries of careful preservation. Built by the architect of the nearby Palace of Holyrood House, now the Scottish residence of King Charles III, this mansion has seen only three families own it in over three centuries.
Current owner James Thomson, who admired the property since childhood, has spent the last 20 years maintaining its character while ensuring every corner radiates warmth and opulence. The interiors are a treasure trove of historic design elements, from Cordoba leather panels and Mortlake tapestries to antique silks, period fireplaces, and curated artworks, each detail adds to its rich tapestry.
Relais & Châteaux Prestonfield House isn’t just about grand interiors, it’s a gateway to the spirit of Scotland. Guests are treated to the best of local traditions, whether through an indulgent afternoon tea, a sip from its impressive malt whisky and wine collection, or a meal at the Rhubarb Restaurant, where chef John McMahon crafts farm-to-table cuisine that’s deeply rooted in local flavour.
With this new affiliation, Prestonfield House is now ready to welcome global travellers looking for a truly authentic Scottish experience, offering history, elegance, and heartfelt hospitality all in one place.

Far East Hospitality is strengthening its foothold in Japan with the launch of two new properties in Osaka under its Far East Village brand. The newly opened Far East Village Hotel Osaka, Namba South and Far East Village Hotel Osaka, Honmachi mark the group’s strategic move to deepen its presence in Japan’s key cities, aiming to operate 2,000 rooms across Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Fukuoka in the next five years.
These launches reflect Far East Hospitality’s ongoing growth momentum since its Japan debut in 2020, even during global travel challenges. The group already operates hotels in Tokyo Ariake, Yokohama, and Tokyo Asakusa and now, with these Osaka additions, celebrates five openings in five years.
Located in the heart of Oku-Namba, the 77-room Far East Village Hotel Osaka, Namba South caters to both leisure and business travellers. It’s a stone’s throw from hotspots like Dotonbori and Namba Yasaka Shrine, with excellent connectivity via Daikokucho and Namba Stations—ideal for exploring the Kansai region.
In contrast, Far East Village Hotel Osaka, Honmachi, with 165 rooms, is tucked inside Chuo-ku, Osaka’s central business district. Just steps away from the iconic Osaka Castle and Minami district, it offers a perfect blend of city convenience and cultural richness.
Speaking about the group’s strategy, Mark Rohner, Chief Operating Officer of Far East Hospitality, said, “Far East Hospitality's expansion into Osaka is a pivotal step towards our five-year goal of expanding to 2,000 rooms in Japan. We are focused on strengthening the Far East Village brand in the country's key cities, particularly those with vibrant business and leisure appeal.”
Far East Hospitality’s expansion is supported by a partnership with Anglo Fortune Capital Group, the company behind the acquisition of these hotels. Benjamin Cho, Principal of the group, added, “Our entry into the Osaka market through the acquisition of two centrally located hotels and our partnership with Far East Hospitality for their management marks an exciting milestone in the continued growth of our hotel portfolio.”
Japan’s tourism industry has seen a strong rebound, with international arrivals surging past pre-pandemic levels. In 2024, the country welcomed a record 36.9 million visitors, reflecting growing interest in culturally rich, immersive travel experiences — something Far East Hospitality aims to offer through its ‘Live Like a Local’ approach.
This signature philosophy encourages travellers to explore the city beyond the usual sights. Guests receive a Village Passport, a locally curated guidebook filled with recommendations on attractions, eateries, and hidden gems—allowing them to experience Osaka as a local would.
With a sharp focus on authentic, purpose-driven hospitality, the group’s approach is not just about stays but about creating a sense of connection with the destination. Personalized service, attention to detail, and warm interactions define the guest experience at Village Hotels.
As Far East Hospitality continues to grow across Japan’s tourism hotspots, its commitment to delivering meaningful and memorable travel experiences remains front and centre and Osaka is just the beginning of this exciting chapter.
