Recently, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board engaged in extensive discussions with global stakeholders at the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) in Jaipur. This event, held from May 5 to 7, was a collaborative effort between the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Representatives from various countries such as the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Poland, Russia, France, Italy, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Mauritius attended the meetings. Discussions ranged from exploring the forts of Gwalior and Mandu to the serene lakes of Bhopal and the lush forests of Kanha and Bandhavgarh.

Bidisha Mukherjee, the Additional Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, expressed the state's ambition to enhance its global tourism presence through strategic partnerships. She emphasized the diverse array of attractions and experiential tourism opportunities available in Madhya Pradesh.

During the deliberations, there was a focus on promoting Responsible Tourism practices to preserve heritage and benefit local communities. The tourism board highlighted initiatives such as eco-tourism projects in Mandu, Maheshwar, Gwalior, Khajuraho, and tiger reserves. These efforts have contributed to an increased influx of international travelers, particularly through homestay projects that offer a glimpse into rural life.

Looking ahead, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is gearing up to host the annual conference of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) on August 30, 2024. This event underscores the state's commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation within the tourism industry.

Overall, the participation at GITB reflects Madhya Pradesh's proactive approach to international tourism promotion and its dedication to sustainable and inclusive tourism practices. With its rich cultural heritage and natural wonders, Madhya Pradesh continues to attract travelers from around the globe, promising unforgettable experiences and adventures off the beaten path.
