MakeMyTrip, India's leading online travel company, is gearing up to enhance its inventory of homestay properties across select metros and cities in anticipation of the high demand during the upcoming cricket season. With a significant surge in the search for homestay accommodations in cities like Ahmedabad, Dharamshala, and key metros during October and November, MakeMyTrip aims to cater to the preferences of cricket enthusiasts.
Parikshit Choudhury, Chief Business Officer - Alternate Accommodation & Customer Contact Group at MakeMyTrip, expressed optimism about the growing interest in homestays as an accommodation choice. He stated, "This is a good sign and indicates that cricket fans are more willing than ever to explore homestays as an accommodation option. A large proportion of homestay properties in cricket centers during October and November are still available at an economical price."
While MakeMyTrip has traditionally focused on leisure markets, the company is now expanding its efforts to include business cities as well. This move is expected to benefit both hosts and travelers, providing a win-win situation as India prepares to immerse itself in cricket fever.
To assist travelers in finding the most suitable accommodation, MakeMyTrip has introduced a new feature that reflects the distance of the homestay from the cricket stadium in each city. This feature will enable cricket fans to make informed decisions when booking their accommodations.
Additionally, MakeMyTrip has established a dedicated team called the "Host Your Home Cell" to provide round-the-clock assistance and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for homestay hosts. The company aims to facilitate the smooth listing of homes on MakeMyTrip's homestay platform.
With these initiatives, MakeMyTrip is ready to meet the increasing demand for homestays during the cricket season, offering cricket enthusiasts comfortable and affordable accommodations across various cities in India.
