The Indian Social Impact Awards 2024 has recognized MakeMyTrip Foundation's exceptional disaster relief initiative in Himachal Pradesh. The foundation, a social development arm of MakeMyTrip, was awarded the Best Disaster Relief Initiative of the Year for its commendable efforts in aiding the state during the devastating floods.

Yuvaraj Srivastava, Trustee of MakeMyTrip Foundation and Group CHRO at MakeMyTrip, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the organization's commitment to community empowerment and climate action. He stated, "Our mission to make tourist destinations in India resilient and sustainable guides our endeavors. The work we undertook in Himachal Pradesh holds significant importance to us, making this acknowledgment even more special."

Last year, Himachal Pradesh faced severe destruction due to heavy rainfall and flooding, prompting MakeMyTrip Foundation to allocate INR 5 crores toward relief efforts. Collaborating with local partners, government bodies, NGOs, and residents, the foundation provided essential supplies and shelter to over 600 families, along with support for the reconstruction of bridges, schools, and other infrastructure.

The commendation from the Indian Social Impact Awards committee echoes the sentiments of officials in Himachal Pradesh. Ashutosh Garg, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, expressed gratitude for the foundation's assistance during the challenging times, acknowledging its significant contribution to the affected communities.

This accolade underscores MakeMyTrip Foundation's dedication to social responsibility and inspires the organization to continue its pursuit of excellence in corporate social responsibility through collaborative action.
