Mother’s Day in Mumbai is shaping up to be a celebration filled with indulgent brunches, interactive experiences, comforting Asian flavours, and thoughtful desserts. Across the city, restaurants and bars are curating unique experiences that go beyond the usual dining outing, turning the occasion into something more personal, social, and memorable.
At Alta Stella in Andheri, the celebrations begin even before Mother’s Day. Guests are invited to share photographs and meaningful memories with their mothers through a special social media contest, with the most heartfelt entry winning a complimentary dinner. On Mother’s Day itself, diners posting a story with their mothers can enjoy a complimentary dessert, adding a sweet touch to the celebration. Known for its elevated ambience and city views, Alta Stella offers the perfect setting for long conversations and family moments.
Meanwhile, Onrique in Bandra is celebrating the occasion with a Floral Cupcake Workshop designed for mothers, daughters, and friends to spend quality time together. Guests can learn buttercream floral techniques, create edible cupcake bouquets, and take home recipe notes along with their handmade creations. The workshop combines creativity with dessert indulgence, making it a memorable experience beyond a traditional meal.
For those looking for something playful and interactive, Baamee is hosting a special Brunch x Lip Gloss experience in collaboration with Krása. The concept pairs a relaxed brunch with a hands-on lip gloss making workshop, allowing guests to create customised glosses while enjoying food and conversations in a lively social setting.
At Tipsy Tiger Garden Bar near Airport Road, Mother’s Day takes a bold turn with a Korean Food Festival. Guests can enjoy smoky grills, comforting bowls, and spice-forward Korean dishes designed for sharing. The experience focuses on flavour-packed comfort food, offering families a vibrant alternative to conventional brunches.
Asian dining lovers can also head to Tokki and Tora, where the menu brings together sushi platters, ramen bowls, nigiri, and signature rolls for a leisurely Mother’s Day meal. Highlights include California Rolls, Hamachi Nigiri, Korean Ramen, Miso Ramen, and elaborate Sushi Boats crafted for group dining and celebrations.
In Lower Parel, Epitome is introducing its new “House & Brunch” experience on Mother’s Day. The brunch combines indulgent dishes with handcrafted beverages by Chandon and Don Julio, accompanied by live percussion performances by Potatofry Music. The experience also includes thoughtfully curated Jain options, making it accessible for diverse dining preferences.
From intimate workshops and dessert-led experiences to luxurious brunches and Korean comfort food, Mumbai’s hospitality scene is turning Mother’s Day into a citywide celebration of togetherness, flavour, and meaningful moments.

Millet Marvels has launched a National Mission aimed at encouraging people to include millets in their daily diet through the initiative “One Meal a Day with Millets.” The announcement was made at Indian Institute of Millets Research (ICAR-IIMR), Rajendranagar, in association with Nutrihub.
The campaign has received support from Nagarjuna Akkineni, who shared a video message urging people to adopt millets as part of their everyday meals. He also appreciated Millet Marvels for bringing forward an initiative focused on building a healthier nation.
The mission aligns with the vision of Narendra Modi to promote better food habits across the country. It aims to bring millets back into regular diets, encouraging individuals and families to make a simple yet impactful shift towards healthier eating.
The launch was led by Sri Janampalli Anirudh Reddy, Hon'ble MLA, Telangana. The event was also attended by Dr. C. Tara Satyavathi, Director, ICAR: Indian Institute of Millets Research, Dr. J. Stanley, Director & CEO, Nutrihub: ICAR-IIMR, and Dr. Bharat Reddy, Founder & CEO, Millet Marvels. Sri Appalanaidu Kalisetti, Hon'ble MP - Lok Sabha, AP, shared a video message during the occasion.
As part of the initiative, participants took a pledge to include at least one millet-based meal in their daily routine, spread awareness about its benefits, and nominate three others to join the movement. This chain-based approach is expected to help the campaign reach a wider audience across India and beyond.
Sri Janampalli Anirudh Reddy, said, "The future of India lies in millets. Once regarded as the "poor man's food," while polished rice and wheat were seen as symbols of affluence, the narrative is now reversing, those who are health-conscious are returning to millets, while poor are moving toward refined grains. Today, significant investments are being made in irrigation to support paddy cultivation. However, crops like millets require nearly 80% less water and offer far greater nutritional benefits, making them both environmentally sustainable and health-friendly. The "One Meal a Day with Millets" initiative by Millet Marvels is a commendable step in the right direction. I intend to strongly advocate for increased millet consumption in the upcoming assembly session. At a time when many in the West are consciously shifting toward millets, it is ironic that we are moving toward the processed foods they are moving away from. It is our collective responsibility to instil healthy eating habits in the next generation and build a healthier future for our nation."
Sharing his thoughts, Dr. Bharat Reddy said,
"This initiative marks the beginning of a transformative journey, a people's movement toward embracing millets as a sustainable and nutritious way of life. Through this mission, Millet Marvels aims to inspire a nationwide shift toward healthier eating practices, reinforcing the importance of traditional grains in modern diets while contributing to long-term public health and sustainability. This is a landmark day for Millet Marvels. Through this campaign, we aspire for every individual to adopt at least one millet-based meal each day. When I approached Nagarjuna garu to share a message on millet consumption, he extended his wholehearted support without hesitation, lending his voice to this cause. I am confident his message will inspire many to rethink and transform their food habits."
Dr. Tara Satyavathi said, "The recommendation of the National Institute of Nutrition is clear, one-third of the cereals we consume should be millets, and they can be included in any meal of the day. The reason is simple, we all aspire to live healthy, happy, and meaningful lives. A balanced diet directly influences not just our physical health, but also our thoughts, behaviour, and overall well-being. Millets truly deserve their reputation as superfoods. With nine diverse varieties, each offering unique nutritional benefits, they play a vital role in maintaining good health. Rich in essential vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, and proteins, millets provide the nourishment our bodies need, naturally and holistically. This is a wake-up call for all of us to address rising lifestyle diseases. Our ancestors believed that food itself is medicine, but today, we often consume food that leads us toward more medication. Let's make a conscious shift. Start by including millets in at least one meal a day and spread this message to inspire more people to embrace healthier eating habits."
Dr. J. Stanley said, "This campaign is redefining the way India eats, driving a meaningful behavioural shift toward a healthier nation. The idea of "One Meal a Day with Millets" is simple, actionable, and highly scalable, seamlessly connecting nutrition, sustainability, and farmers' livelihoods within a single framework. Dr. Bharat Reddy deserves immense appreciation for conceptualising this forward-thinking initiative. This launch marks an important step toward making millets a regular part of our daily diet, rather than just an occasional alternative."
