Amoeba has returned to Church Street with a reimagined format, marking its 25th year with the launch of a next-generation sports bar. The relaunch reflects a strategic shift from its legacy as a gaming hub to a full-spectrum social entertainment destination, aligned with evolving urban consumer preferences.
Since its launch in 2001, Amoeba has been a key part of Church Street, one of the city’s most vibrant high streets known for its youth culture, dining, and nightlife. For many in Bengaluru, the brand has been closely associated with bowling, arcade gaming, and social gatherings, making its return both nostalgic and forward-looking.
The revamped space introduces a high-energy sports bar layered with Amoeba’s core offerings of bowling and gaming. This hybrid format brings together live sports, interactive entertainment, and casual dining, creating an experience-driven environment designed to increase engagement and dwell time.
The food menu has been curated with a focus on shareable options, featuring comfort food such as wings, burgers, pizzas, and bar bites. The pricing strategy is aimed at attracting a wide audience, including students, young professionals, and corporate groups, especially given the high footfall in the Church Street area.
A standout feature of the venue is its external viewing deck overlooking the street, offering a unique social setting combined with large-format sports screenings. Multiple high-definition screens across the space create a stadium-like atmosphere, with a strong focus on major sporting events such as the Indian Premier League.
Beyond its daily operations, Amoeba plans to drive engagement through programming-led initiatives, including themed nights, bowling tournaments, and community events. Extended operating hours further enhance its appeal as a late-night destination in Bengaluru’s growing nightlife scene.
This relaunch is part of a broader brand refresh across Amoeba’s national presence, with the Church Street outlet positioned as its flagship. As Bengaluru continues to evolve as a lifestyle and entertainment hub, Amoeba’s return represents a strategic move to reclaim its cultural relevance in a competitive market.
Monkey Bar in Bengaluru is bringing a fresh wave of flavours to the city with the latest edition of its Flavour Riot series, this time in collaboration with Odd Pizza. The Goa-based concept will make its Bengaluru debut with a two-day pop-up at Monkey Bar on Museum Road.
Scheduled for April 11 and 12, the pop-up brings together two brands known for their bold and unconventional approach to food. Odd Pizza stands out for moving away from traditional definitions of authenticity, instead focusing on experimentation, unexpected combinations, and strong flavour profiles.
Founded by DJ SA, the brand draws inspiration from hip-hop culture and nightlife. Each pizza is crafted with attention to detail, starting with its signature dough made from custom flour sourced from Himachal Pradesh and fermented for 48 to 72 hours. The Roman-style base delivers a light, airy texture with a crisp edge, making the crust an essential part of the flavour experience.
The Flavour Riot series at Monkey Bar aims to showcase culinary concepts with a strong identity, and Odd Pizza fits seamlessly into this vision. What began as a response to predictable menus has grown into a brand known for its distinct style and loyal following.
The menu for the pop-up features a mix of appetisers, pizzas, and desserts. Highlights include Akkad Bakkad, a crispy fried chicken dish with a spicy peanut butter and jelly glaze, along with Monkey Bar’s Fire Pork. The pizza lineup includes options like Identity Theft with truffle and cheese layers, A Milli with pepperoni and truffle honey, Hot Boy with spicy chicken krapow, Kohinoor with miso butter prawns, and The White Goddess with rich cheese and anchovy toppings.
Desserts round off the experience with Chris’ Bangin Mousse, a whiskey chocolate creation, and Mangoes with Vanilla Ice Cream, made using fresh cream and vanilla bean.
The collaboration also features beverages curated in partnership with Heineken and PourHouse Studio, designed to complement the bold flavours on the menu. Together, the event promises a lively and relaxed setting, capturing the essence of a summer pop-up in the city.

ButterBrews has opened its new outlet in Aundh, marking its largest format café so far. The new space has been designed as an everyday destination, bringing together a comfortable layout, a strong all-day menu, and a clear focus on coffee.
The café has been planned with multiple zones to suit different preferences. It includes an indoor seating area, a non-smoking outdoor section with an amphitheatre-style setup, and a separate smoking zone placed away from the main space to ensure a smooth and relaxed experience for all guests.
The menu offers a premium all-day selection built around fresh ingredients. Guests can choose from breakfast options, healthy bowls, wholesome meals, and vegan dishes, making it suitable for different tastes and dining needs throughout the day.
Coffee continues to be at the heart of the ButterBrews experience. The café uses 100 percent Arabica beans and serves both house blends and manually brewed coffees. It also features guest roasters like Tulum Coffee Roasters and Ground Zero Coffee Roasters, adding variety to its coffee offerings.
Desserts and baked items are prepared in-house at ButterBrews’ bakehouse. Popular choices include the Basque cheesecake and cinnamon rolls, which have already become favourites among guests.
Commenting on the opening, Harsh Agarwal, Co-founder, ButterBrews, said, “ButterBrews, Aundh is our largest format cafe yet. We have built a stronger indoor experience and created clear zones across the cafe so guests can settle in the way they like. We want this to be an address people can count on through the week.”
Umang Bhimrajka, Co-founder, ButterBrews, added, “For us, coffee has always been non-negotiable. With 100 percent Arabica beans, house espresso coffees and manual brews that rotate speciality roasters, we are bringing a program that balances familiarity with discovery. Alongside that, the all-day menu and our bakehouse desserts complete the experience we want to offer Aundh.”
