In a recent announcement at the Skift India Summit 2024, Vikram Oberoi, the CEO of EIH Limited, the flagship company of The Oberoi Group, unveiled an ambitious plan to develop a new line of ultra-luxury hotels close to nature. These boutique properties, internally referred to as "Oberoi Nature," aim to offer guests a unique experience in picturesque locations, blending luxury with the tranquility of nature.
The move comes as part of Oberoi Group's strategy to double its overall room count by 2030. Oberoi emphasized the importance of creating hotels that resonate with guests' desire for authenticity and connection to their surroundings. These smaller, nature-inspired hotels will provide a strong sense of place, offering guests an opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of their surroundings.
Oberoi's vision for the future of hospitality in India also includes a call for increased pricing power. He noted that Indian hotels often undervalue their offerings compared to global standards, urging the industry to raise rates to reflect the true value of the experience they provide.
While Oberoi Group aims for significant expansion, Oberoi emphasized that quality would remain paramount. He stressed the group's commitment to excellence, investing in staff development and maintaining a focus on delivering unparalleled service.
The announcement signals a bold new direction for Oberoi Group, as it seeks to redefine luxury hospitality in India while preserving the natural beauty of its surroundings. With plans to open 50 new hotels by 2030, Oberoi Group is poised to leave a lasting mark on the hospitality landscape, offering guests unforgettable experiences that seamlessly blend luxury and nature.
