Otoki, Mumbai’s newest culinary gem, has officially launched in Colaba, offering a refined take on the traditional Japanese izakaya experience. Nestled in the cultural heart of South Mumbai, Otoki is where Japanese precision meets Mumbai's vibrant energy, delivering a unique blend of authenticity and elegance.

Spearheaded by Chef Mohit Singh, whose impressive career spans kitchens like the three-Michelin-starred Kikunoi Honten in Kyoto, Indee in Bangkok, and Boury in Belgium, the restaurant's menu celebrates seasonal finesse, ingredient-first philosophy, and time-honoured Japanese techniques. Guests can savour a thoughtfully curated selection—from Kozara (small plates) and premium Sashimi and Nigiri to comforting Ramen, delicate Hand Rolls, and smoky Robata-grilled proteins. Every dish is designed to reflect the purity and complexity of Japanese flavours with a modern edge.

Adding to the immersive experience is Otoki’s premium sake programme, curated by Maia Laifungbam, India’s first certified sake brewer. The list features everything from crisp sparkling sakes to rare dessert options, offering perfect pairings for both sake enthusiasts and curious newcomers.

Otoki’s interiors exude quiet elegance, inspired by the minimalist beauty of Kyoto yet grounded in a Mumbai aesthetic. The warm, intimate space encourages guests to relax, share conversations, and immerse themselves in the soulfulness of Japanese culture.

The concept is brought to life by seasoned restaurateurs Anurag Katriar and Pranav M. Rungta, who share a common vision of creating a dining space that goes beyond the plate.

“Otoki is born out of our deep admiration for Japanese culinary culture—its simplicity, precision, and soulfulness. We wanted to create a space that offers more than just a meal,” said Anurag Katriar.

“In a city as dynamic as Mumbai, we felt there was space for a concept that blends craftsmanship with approachability,” added Pranav Rungta. “Otoki brings the warmth of an izakaya together with fine culinary detail.”

Whether you’re a seasoned lover of Japanese cuisine or looking to explore it for the first time, Otoki promises an unforgettable dining journey rooted in tradition, elevated by innovation.

Address: Ground Floor, Pheroze Building, 5, Apollo Bandar, Colaba, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400001.
