Lower Parel welcomes a new era of dining and nightlife with the launch of Permit & Co, a casual dining bar inspired by Bombay's iconic Permit Rooms. Conceptualized by Aditya and Adesh Hegde, alongside creative partner Laksh Fomra of Holy Duck, the restaurant blends the timeless charm of the 60s through the 90s with modern sensibilities, offering a space to drink, dine, and connect.

Located in the heart of Mumbai, Permit & Co pays homage to the city's rich culinary heritage and drinking culture. Its design evokes nostalgia with bold artwork and curios reminiscent of the 80s and 90s, while the 120-seater main dining room features minimalist aesthetics, wooden fixtures, subway tiles, and retro-grade grouting for a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Permit & Co’s food and drink program celebrates familiarity and nostalgia. The menu features reimagined dishes inspired by Bombay’s vibrant culinary scene, catering to Indian palates while maintaining a simple yet rich selection. Cocktails draw from flavors that evoke memories of childhood, combining nostalgic ingredients with modern twists, in-house sodas, and a selection of spirits.

Aditya Hegde, co-founder, shared, "Permit Rooms have always been about creating spaces where people feel a sense of familiarity—with the food, cocktails, service, and ambiance. At Permit & Co, we’ve aimed to recreate that experience with a touch of modernity and fond memories."

Echoing this sentiment, Adesh Hegde, co-founder, added, "The essence of Permit & Co lies in its celebration of Bombay’s eclectic drinking and dining culture. Like the Irani cafes, Permit Rooms are part of the city’s culinary legacy, and we’ve reimagined them for today’s elevated palate."

Permit & Co is more than a bar—it's a vibrant collective reviving Bombay's convivial spirit while offering a modern, laid-back experience. With its bold flavors, heady cocktails, and lively ambiance, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to relive Bombay’s iconic past while indulging in a contemporary dining experience.
