Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new resort in Barnala, Punjab, marking its latest addition to the Gateway brand. Known for its expansive hospitality network, IHCL is continuing to grow its presence in Tier II and III cities across India with this strategic move.

The new property, Gateway Barnala, will cover nine acres and feature a low-rise design with 100 villas and rooms. This unique resort will provide a blend of modern amenities, including an all-day diner, a specialty restaurant, a bar, a health center, and a gymnasium, catering to both leisure and business travelers. Additionally, the resort will house a 7,000ft² banquet hall and several meeting rooms, making it an ideal venue for corporate and social events.

Partnering with BRH Eaton, a real estate development company, IHCL aims to create a standout destination in Barnala. Lakhvir Singh, executive of BRH Eaton, expressed enthusiasm for the project, with plans to expand further into Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Suma Venkatesh, IHCL’s executive vice-president of real estate and development, commented, “This signing is in line with our strategy of growing IHCL’s presence in Tier II and III cities in India. Barnala, a commercial and industrial center bordering Ludhiana, is an emerging market in Punjab, and we are delighted to partner with Lakhvir Singh for this project.”

The addition of Gateway Barnala will bring IHCL’s presence in Punjab to three hotels, further reinforcing the company’s expansion in the region. With 340 hotels worldwide, including 112 under development, IHCL continues to set the bar for excellence in the hospitality industry.

Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has announced the signing of its latest property, Keys Lite by Lemon Tree Hotels, Metropolitan, Vijayawada, as part of its ongoing expansion in Andhra Pradesh. Managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels, the new property is expected to open in FY 2026.

Located in Vijayawada, a bustling city known for its rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks, the new property will feature 44 well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, meeting rooms, and banquet facilities, catering to both business and leisure travelers. Situated around 15 km from Vijayawada International Airport and 6 km from the railway station, the hotel will be well connected by roadways for convenient access.

Vilas Pawar, CEO of Managed & Franchise Business at Lemon Tree Hotels, shared his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to expand our portfolio in Vijayawada with this new property. This addition will complement our existing four operational and four upcoming properties in Andhra Pradesh.”
