Hilton has taken a major step towards expanding its footprint in India, signing a strategic licensing agreement (SLA) with NILE Hospitality to launch 75 Hampton by Hilton hotels across the country. This move aligns with Hilton’s vision to capture the rising demand from India’s growing middle class and strengthen its mid-market presence. Scaling Up in a High-Growth Market The new partnership follows Hilton’s 2024 agreement with Olive by Embassy to introduce 150 Spark by Hilton hotels in India. Hilton’s Asia Pacific President, Alan Watts, described this as a pivotal moment in the company’s India expansion. “This marks our mid-market moment in India, as significant macroeconomic growth, a rapidly rising middle class, and vast infrastructure development fuel demand for our brands and drive strong trading performance in the country,” said Watts. Under the agreement, the first Hampton by Hilton hotels will debut in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Bihar, setting the stage for the brand’s expansion across India. Why Hampton by Hilton? Hampton by Hilton sits in the upper-midscale segment, complementing Hilton’s existing brands, including Hilton Garden Inn and the upcoming Spark by Hilton. The brand is known for its efficient design, consistent service, and premium performance, making it a popular choice for value-conscious travelers. “Hampton by Hilton is a customer favorite around the world, and this agreement demonstrates the immense value of the brand to guests and owners,” said Kevin Jacobs, CFO & President, Global Development, Hilton. Hampton by Hilton is also recognized as the world’s top lodging franchise for 16 consecutive years by Entrepreneur® magazine. A Milestone for NILE Hospitality For NILE Hospitality, this partnership represents a game-changing opportunity to redefine India’s midscale accommodation sector. “With this landmark signing, we are delighted to join hands with Hilton, bringing this celebrated brand to the region,” said Vikram Singh Chauhan, Founder & CEO, NILE Hospitality.“This collaboration aligns with India’s unprecedented development and domestic travel momentum, allowing us to offer high-quality service and a consistent brand experience in emerging markets.” Global Growth and Future Prospects Hampton by Hilton has been adapted to the Asia Pacific market and has already seen rapid success in China. With this new expansion into India, Hilton is cementing its presence in the region and capitalizing on the surge in domestic travel. This strategic move reinforces Hilton’s commitment to India’s booming hospitality sector, offering travelers a trusted mid-market accommodation option while unlocking new opportunities for business and tourism growth.
