Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay Mamallapuram recently celebrated the start of the festive season with a unique, eco-friendly cake mixing ceremony that blended holiday traditions with sustainability. The event brought together guests, local dignitaries, media representatives, and resort staff for an occasion that emphasized the resort's commitment to environmental stewardship.

This year’s cake mixing featured an engaging twist. Barrels and crushers were used to make the mixing process more interactive, inviting participants to add dried fruits, nuts, and spices while festive music played in the background. The lively gathering captured the essence of the season, with guests dressed in bright holiday colors, enjoying the atmosphere and seasonal treats.

A highlight of the event was the sustainable tree lighting ceremony. In a refreshing departure from traditional Christmas decorations, the resort showcased a tree made entirely from locally sourced coconut leaves (panaellai), including the base and decorations. This innovative approach underscored the resort's commitment to sustainability by opting for natural, waste-reducing materials.

Adding to the festive mood, children from the local community joined the event, singing carols and spreading joy. Their heartfelt performances brought warmth to the celebration, embodying the holiday spirit.

Speaking on the occasion, Shabin Sarvotham, Senior General Manager of Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay Mamallapuram, shared, “At Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay, we aim to combine the joy of tradition with our commitment to sustainability. This year's Cake Mixing Ceremony is not only a celebration of the festive spirit, but also a step toward reducing our environmental impact. The use of coconut leaves for our tree, and the participation of local children in carol singing, highlights our ongoing efforts to embrace sustainability while fostering a sense of community.”
