Radisson Hotel Group has strengthened its presence in east India with the signing of two new properties in Odisha — Radisson Hotel Bhubaneswar and Radisson Resort Kataka. Together, the properties will add 220 rooms to the Group’s growing portfolio.

The signing marks Radisson Hotel Group’s entry into Kataka with the city’s first branded resort, while further strengthening its presence in Bhubaneswar. The two properties are expected to serve business, leisure, MICE, social and cultural travel demand across the region.

Radisson Hotel Bhubaneswar will feature 115 rooms and suites, including Standard Rooms, Suites and a Presidential Suite. The hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, bar and tea lounge, along with a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. With more than 1,200 sqm of meetings and events space across two ballrooms and two meeting rooms, the hotel will cater to corporate gatherings, conferences, MICE events, weddings and social celebrations.

Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, has developed into an important commercial and institutional hub, supported by government, education, healthcare, industry and religious tourism. The hotel will be located close to NH-16, Bhubaneswar Railway Station and Biju Patnaik International Airport, providing access to key destinations across the city.

Radisson Resort Kataka will offer 105 rooms and suites, comprising Standard Rooms, Business Suites, Premium Suites and Presidential Suites. Designed as a resort destination, it will feature an all-day dining restaurant, tea lounge, bar and speciality restaurant, along with a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre.

The resort will have 1,068 sqm of meetings and events space across a ballroom and two meeting rooms. These facilities will support weddings, social occasions, MICE events and destination-led gatherings. Its riverfront setting is also expected to add to its appeal for leisure stays and weekend getaways.

Kataka, Odisha’s second-largest city, is known for its commercial and cultural importance, with trade, textiles, handicrafts and the renowned silver filigree industry forming part of its economy. Attractions such as Barabati Fort and Kataka Chandi Temple, along with events including Bali Yatra and Durga Puja, also support the city’s cultural and religious tourism.

“Odisha is an important growth market for Radisson Hotel Group, with Bhubaneswar and Kataka offering strong and complementary opportunities across business, leisure, MICE and social travel. The addition of these two properties strengthens our presence in one of India’s fastest-evolving states while expanding our offering across both established and emerging destinations. With Radisson Hotel Bhubaneswar and Radisson Resort Kataka, we are well placed to serve the diverse needs of travellers while supporting the growth of Odisha’s hospitality ecosystem. This dual signing reinforces our commitment to bringing our brands to markets where we see sustained demand and long-term potential,” said Nikhil Sharma, managing director & COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.

“Bhubaneswar and Kataka present a compelling opportunity to build a complementary portfolio across two distinct demand markets. Bhubaneswar’s established commercial ecosystem and Kataka’s growing potential as a leisure, cultural and social destination make the two locations strategically relevant to our expansion plans in Odisha. With 6 hotels in Puri, Bhubaneswar, Kataka & Gopalpur, we shall continue to focus on Odisha and larger Eastern India as a strategic territory for our growth plans.” said Davashish Srivastava, vice president - Development, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.

The properties are being developed in partnership with Lalchand Group.

“We are pleased to partner with Radisson Hotel Group on this dual development in Odisha, bringing together two distinctive hospitality offerings in Bhubaneswar and Kataka. We envision these properties as welcoming destinations that combine contemporary hospitality with thoughtfully designed spaces for business, leisure and social occasions. With Radisson Hotel Bhubaneswar and Radisson Resort Kataka, we look forward to contributing to the region’s evolving hospitality landscape and creating experiences that serve both travellers and the local community. This partnership marks an important step in our journey into branded hospitality, and we are confident these properties will become preferred destinations in their respective markets,” said Ajit Hans, director at Lalchand Group.

With the two signings, Radisson Hotel Group is expanding across both an established business market and an emerging leisure and cultural destination in Odisha, adding to its growing footprint in east India.
