Shangri-La Bengaluru has proudly announced the addition of Chef Yoshinori Mizutani to its culinary team. Chef Mizutani will serve as the Master of Japanese Cuisine at Yataii, the hotel's authentic and modern Japanese restaurant, delivering an extraordinary dining experience to the city.

With a remarkable career spanning over four decades, Chef Mizutani brings a wealth of experience and culinary expertise to Bengaluru. Hailing from Nagoya, Japan, he has travelled and honed his skills in various culinary destinations around the world, including Egypt, Singapore, China, Mauritius, and Indonesia. He has garnered immense recognition and praise for his exceptional talent.

Most recently, Chef Mizutani showcased his culinary mastery at the renowned Shangri-La Beijing, where he led the kitchen at the esteemed Japanese restaurant, Nishimura. His outstanding skills were acknowledged by Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Masahiko Koumura, who awarded him the title of Excellent Chef de Cuisine.

Chef Mizutani is renowned for his extraordinary technique in carving tuna, which became a monthly highlight at the Shangri-La Beijing restaurant. At Yataii, he will introduce a selection of signature dishes that showcase his innovative approach to traditional Japanese cuisine. Guests can anticipate a delightful range of lobster preparations, from teppanyaki to tempura, as well as artfully crafted sushi and sashimi creations.

In his leisure time, Chef Mizutani enjoys indulging in tea and coffee, eagerly exploring Bengaluru's diverse coffee offerings. He also has a deep appreciation for biryani and considers it a comforting and irresistible delight that he can't resist.

Bringing over 23 years of experience across luxury and upper-upscale hospitality brands, Saurav combines operational expertise with strong commercial acumen. His professional journey includes more than a decade in hotel operations, followed by 13 years in sales and marketing leadership roles.

Saurav began his Hyatt journey at Grand Hyatt Mumbai in 2004 within Food & Beverage operations before transitioning into sales and marketing. Over the years, he has held leadership roles across prominent hospitality brands including Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre, Le Méridien Hyderabad, and Le Méridien Nagpur, contributing to revenue growth and market expansion initiatives.

He rejoined Hyatt in 2023 at Hyatt Regency Chennai, where he played a significant role in shaping commercial strategy while also supporting Hyatt Pune as Acting General Manager.

In his new role at Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty, Saurav will lead the hotel’s sales and marketing strategy with a focus on driving revenue growth across key segments and strengthening the property’s positioning within the competitive luxury hospitality landscape.
