Bengaluru’s dining scene gets a bold new chapter with the opening of RIKO, the city’s first dedicated Peruvian-Latin restaurant, which opened its doors on 27th June 2025 at UB City. Conceptualised by The Kofteci Group, the team behind Oz by Kebapci, Kebapci, and Klava, RIKO is a deep dive into heritage, flavour, and fire, a space where open flame meets soulful storytelling.

Translating to “delicious” or “exquisite” in Spanish, RIKO is designed to be more than a restaurant, it's a memory-driven experience where native ingredients like ají amarillo, choclo, and lucuma shape every dish. With an à la carte menu spanning seven carefully curated categories, RIKO offers an expressive reinterpretation of Peru’s diverse geography and culinary traditions  from the Andes to the Pacific coast.

At the core of RIKO’s menu are dishes like the Bomba de Choclo, a corn custard with aged cheese encased in a crisp shell, and the Ceviche de Mango y Maracuyá, a tropical plate of shrimp, mango, passion fruit, lime, and native chilli. Signature grills include the Pollo a la Brasa, a Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken slow-roasted over open flame, and the Tamal de Cordero, filled with warmly spiced lamb.

For mains, the Arroz Bomba del Mar combines saffron bomba rice with seabass, while dessert closes on a soft note with Cachapa con Miel, a sweet corn pancake topped with honey.

RIKO also introduces a no-pour beverage program, offering thoughtful, non-alcoholic pairings designed to enhance the food. Highlights include the Brazilian Lemonade, a rich lime-condensed milk blend; the Granada y Kion, a pomegranate-ginger soda; and the Agua du Fresco, a refreshing cucumber-coconut cooler.

Inside, RIKO draws inspiration from Peru’s natural textures  with hand-laid stone, terracotta, microcement, and a sculptural clay wall evoking the Andean terrain. A mirrored ceiling above a red booth adds visual contrast, while a hand-painted mural of Peruvian foliage and a library shelf of cultural books complete the layered, intentional space.

Co-founders Aasim and Adeeb Shah say RIKO is built on authenticity, not mimicry. “There’s fire, soul, and story in every element  from what’s on the plate to the textures around it.”
