The art of British tailoring took centre stage in Mumbai as master Savile Row tailor Robert Bailey hosted an exclusive trunk show at Modernist, the private members’ club at Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai.
On his second visit to India, Bailey brought over 40 years of bespoke tailoring expertise and showcased a curated collection of more than 3,000 luxury fabrics from renowned mills like Dormeuil, Scabal, Holland & Sherry, and Loro Piana. Held over three days, the event featured private, by-appointment consultations where clients received expert guidance on fit, fabric, and styling.
“It’s been a pleasure returning to Mumbai,” said Robert Bailey. “The level of appreciation for true craftsmanship here is remarkable. I’ve found the clientele to be confident, curious, and style-aware—keen to express individuality through tailoring, but also deeply respectful of tradition.”
Bailey is known for his signature approach of adapting Savile Row traditions to suit modern lifestyles, and for Mumbai’s climate, he introduced breathable fabrics, lighter canvases, and subtle adjustments in cut—while maintaining details like sculpted waists and high armholes. His clientele in the city included lawyers, entrepreneurs, and professionals who value custom tailoring with timeless appeal.
Nitesh Gandhi, General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, said, “It was a true pleasure to welcome Robert Bailey. At the heart of our hotel is a commitment to curating exceptional experiences. Trunk shows like these bring together artistry and elegance, offering our guests access to some of the world’s finest craftsmanship—right here in Mumbai.”
The trunk show was more than a display of tailoring excellence—it was a celebration of tradition and individual expression. Guests can look forward to future visits, as Robert Bailey plans to return to Mumbai, with appointments available through Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai.

Marriott India proudly announced the successful achievement of a landmark environmental goal on World Environment Day 2025 — planting 100,000 trees across its extensive network of over 150 hotels nationwide. This milestone marks a significant escalation in Marriott India’s ongoing dedication to sustainability and ecological restoration.
Building on the success of last year’s “Two Trees per Room” initiative, which saw over 32,600 trees planted by more than 4,900 volunteers, Marriott India dramatically scaled its green efforts in 2025. The collective commitment demonstrated by Marriott’s teams nationwide underscores the brand’s focus on tangible environmental action and fostering a healthier planet.
Each Marriott India property actively participated in localized tree-planting drives in collaboration with reputable reforestation partners. These efforts targeted areas where new trees would contribute most to ecosystem restoration, biodiversity enhancement, climate change mitigation, and support for local communities.
Sanjay Gupta, Chairman of the Marriott India Business Council, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “Marriott India is incredibly proud to have successfully achieved our goal of planting 100,000 trees, a testament to our profound dedication to environmental responsibility. This ambitious goal truly underscores our belief that sustainability is not just a passing trend, but a fundamental pillar of responsible hospitality. We are committed to making a lasting, positive impact on our environment for generations to come.”
Sheraton Grand Palace Indore reinforced Marriott’s commitment by planting 550 trees on its premises as part of the celebrations. The initiative involved enthusiastic participation from hotel team members and was led by the General Manager, highlighting the hotel’s dedication to fostering a greener community and environment.
Beyond tree planting, Marriott India continues to implement a broad range of sustainability practices. These include energy-efficient operations, waste reduction programs, and responsible sourcing — all aimed at minimizing ecological impact and setting new standards in sustainable hospitality.
Marriott India’s achievements on World Environment Day 2025 reflect a deep-seated commitment to environmental stewardship and a vision for a cleaner, greener future.
