Sanatanam, a new vegetarian dining destination, has opened in Rajouri Garden, New Delhi, bringing traditional cooking and mindful dining to the city's food scene. The restaurant was inaugurated in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta and prominent members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
Rooted in the philosophy of “Anna Brahma”, which considers food divine, Sanatanam presents vegetarian dining as more than a meal. Its approach centres on the connection between food, culture and care, with an emphasis on traditional ingredients and thoughtful preparation.
The launch began with a puja and Ganga Aarti, followed by a live Indian classical performance that set a traditional tone for the occasion. Dignitaries and guests were then introduced to the restaurant's signature dishes.
Speaking about the launch, founder Girish Goel said, “Sanatanam was born from a belief that has guided Indian households for generations: food is divine. Every dish is prepared with pure desi ghee and ingredients we would proudly serve in our own homes. We are deeply honoured that the Hon’ble Chief Minister joined us to bless this beginning. We hope Sanatanam becomes a place where Delhi can slow down and rediscover the joy of food made with intention.”
Bengaluru-style South Indian cuisine forms the heart of Sanatanam's menu, with signature dishes including Ghee Saagu Dosa, Ghee Thatte Idli, Bisi Bele Bath, Ghee Jaggery Pongal and Appam served with Jaggery Paal.
The menu also features popular street-food favourites such as Masala Puri, Mango Pani Puri and the Thatte Vada Set. North Indian offerings include Paneer Butter Masala, Dal Tadka and tandoori preparations, while the Chinese selection features Chilli Basil Paneer, Hakka Noodles and Schezwan Rice.
The restaurant brings these different culinary influences together through its own South Indian-inspired approach to preparation, with an emphasis on avoiding artificial enhancements and unnecessary additives. Inspired by the lotus and the arrow, symbols of purity and purposeful direction, Sanatanam's interiors combine natural materials, subtle cultural geometry and soft lighting. A live kitchen allows guests to observe the preparation of their meals, adding a visual element to the dining experience.
Designed for different occasions throughout the day, the restaurant welcomes guests for breakfast, informal meetings, family meals, evening chaats and leisurely dinners. Its dining concept aims to create a comfortable setting where guests can enjoy traditional flavours while spending time with family and friends.
Located at D-45A, Rajouri Garden, near Pillar 195, New Delhi, Sanatanam operates daily from 8:30 AM to 11:30 PM. With its vegetarian menu spanning South Indian, North Indian and Chinese cuisine, the restaurant adds another dining option to the capital's food and beverage landscape.
