Sarovar Hotels has further expanded its presence in Tamil Nadu with the launch of Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur, its first hotel under the Sarovar Portico brand and third owned property. Located on the Chennai–Bangalore Highway, the 156-room hotel is designed as a sustainable, future-ready destination for business travellers and large-scale events in one of South India’s fastest-growing industrial hubs.

Part of the Louvre Hotels Group, Sarovar Hotels marked the launch with the presence of Federico J. González, Board Director, Groupe du Louvre; K. Syama Raju, President, FHRAI; Ajay K. Bakaya, Chairman, Sarovar Hotels & Director, Louvre Hotels India; and Jatin Khanna, CEO, Sarovar Hotels.

The property has been developed with sustainability at its core, featuring a solar roof, rainwater harvesting, an in-house sewage treatment plant, energy-efficient HVAC and lighting systems, a bottling plant, and purified water supply in guest rooms. Built with eco-sensitive design and low-impact construction techniques, the hotel reflects Sarovar’s long-term focus on responsible hospitality.

Speaking on the occasion, Federico J. González said, “India is a key strategic market for the Louvre Hotels Group, and Sarovar Hotels continues to play a pivotal role in our expansion here. The opening of Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur reinforces our commitment to investing in high-growth destinations while also championing sustainability and innovation in hospitality.”

Ajay K. Bakaya added, “Sriperumbudur is one of the fastest-growing industrial zones in South India, and we are proud to introduce a hotel that not only meets the needs of modern business travellers but also reflects our commitment to responsible hospitality. From design to operations, Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur represents our future-ready approach where guest comfort and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.”

The hotel also introduces distinctive dining options. SPR Kitchen, its all-day dining restaurant, offers global and Indian cuisines, nutritionist-curated options, and the region’s first “Bowl Meal” concept, served in eco-friendly ware. Chola Lounge, the tropical-themed bar, creates a vibrant social setting with handcrafted cocktails, modern bar bites, and curated greenery.

Catering to MICE and large-scale events, the hotel features 7,245 sq. ft. of flexible event space. Its highlight, Summit, a 4,770 sq. ft. pillar-less banquet hall is the largest in the region, complemented by Senate, Crescent, and a Board Room with advanced audiovisual facilities.

With this launch, Sarovar Hotels consolidates its Tamil Nadu portfolio while underscoring its focus on sustainability-led growth, business travel, and hospitality-driven development across India’s industrial corridors.
