Sayaji Hotels has announced the appointment of Dinesh Dahiya as the General Manager of Business Development. Dahiya returns to Sayaji after serving as Vice President of Sales & Revenue Management for nearly two years, starting in May 2020. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives, including portfolio development, acquisitions, promoting partnerships, revenue growth, and exploring new business opportunities.

Dahiya brings over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked with various prominent organizations nationwide. His focus throughout his career has been on enhancing development, revenue, and guest experiences. Dahiya holds an MBA in Sales & Service Marketing from IIT Roorkee, which gives him the right combination of strategic insight and operational expertise. His experience and education position him as a key leader for Sayaji Hotels' growth initiatives.

During his previous tenure at Sayaji Hotels, Dahiya made significant contributions by leading the sales and revenue management functions. His strategies were instrumental in helping the brand navigate through challenging market conditions. In his new role as General Manager of Business Development, he will be involved in developing business strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals, identifying target markets, and setting up portfolio development initiatives. His responsibilities also include securing prime hospitality properties, assessing industry trends, and building partnerships with key stakeholders.

Minor Hotels, a global leader in hospitality, has appointed Omar Romero as Chief Development and Luxury Officer, a newly established role aimed at advancing the company’s international growth. Based in Bangkok, Romero will report to CEO Dillip Rajakarier and work closely with the senior leadership team.

In his new position, Romero will guide the global development strategy, seek new business opportunities, oversee project planning and execution, and manage key partnerships. He will also be influential in shaping the company’s luxury brand portfolio to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Romero joins Minor Hotels with over 20 years of industry expertise. Before this, he served as Chief Development Officer at Six Senses, where he led the global development team and facilitated over 50 hotel management agreements and several branded residence projects. His experience and knowledge are expected to bolster Minor Hotels’ global presence and luxury offerings.

Hyatt Regency Chandigarh has appointed Deepak Sarkar as its new Executive Chef, effective October 14, 2024. Sarkar, with over two decades in the hospitality industry, is set to redefine the culinary experience at the property with his commitment to innovative flavors and a passion for memorable dining.

An alumnus of IHM Gwalior, Sarkar’s career began as a commis chef at The Metropolitan Hotel in New Delhi in 2002. Since then, he has excelled in key roles at top brands, including ITC Royal Bengal Kolkata, where he launched six successful outlets, and Shangri-La, The Leela Kempinski, Oberoi Hotels, and Marriott. His global exposure in Japanese Teppanyaki and other international cuisines spans markets in Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and the Middle East.

In his role at Hyatt Regency Chandigarh, Sarkar will oversee the culinary operations across the property’s restaurants, bars, in-room dining, and event spaces. His expertise in menu planning, vendor management, and creative culinary concepts aims to enhance the hotel’s appeal to international travelers and local guests alike.
