Serious Slice, the pizza brand by Keen Mustard Ventures, has opened its third Bengaluru outlet on 12th Main, Indiranagar, bringing its signature 72-hour fermented dough and “Honest Pizza” philosophy to a new setting.
Spread across 1,600 sq. ft., the new pizzeria has a darker, warmer and more intimate feel while introducing a few firsts for the brand. It features an open pizza kitchen, an open-air balcony overlooking the trees along 12th Main, and Serious Slice's first wine menu, including wine cocktails. The brand's approach is simple: the pizza has to speak for itself. Serious Slice calls this philosophy “Honest Pizza”, a standard it has followed from its first outlet in RR Nagar to its second on Cunningham Road and now in Indiranagar.
The process starts three days before the pizza reaches the table. The naturally leavened dough is slow-fermented for 72 hours, with time and temperature carefully managed before it is hand-stretched and baked.
“The experience should not trick people into liking the brand once. It should give them a real reason to come back,” says Anirudh Kheny, Co-Founder of Serious Slice. “We didn’t open Serious Slice to be the most popular pizza in Bengaluru. We opened it to be the most honest. Three outlets in, the dough still takes 72 hours and the sourcing is still obsessive.”
The Margherita remains one of the clearest examples of the brand's focus on its dough. Made with San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and cold-pressed olive oil, the pizza keeps the toppings restrained so the fermented dough remains at the centre.
“If everything is loud, nothing is clear,” says Atul Sunder, Co-Founder of Serious Slice. “The Margherita tells you whether a restaurant understands pizza or is simply adding toppings to bread.”
Across the menu, Serious Slice keeps its ingredients carefully balanced, with burrata, parmesan, goat cheese and buffalo mozzarella used without overpowering the base. The restaurant also offers a zero-flour dough, developed from scratch while following the same standards as the classic base.
For those looking beyond pizza, the menu includes panuozzo, a rustic Neapolitan street-food sandwich made using pizza dough. It is baked in the same wood-fired oven and filled while warm.
The open pizza kitchen sits at the centre of the Indiranagar restaurant, allowing guests to watch the dough being hand-stretched, topped and baked. The setup brings the preparation process into the dining experience and reflects Serious Slice's focus on keeping its ingredients and craft visible.
The Indiranagar outlet brings a new look to the Serious Slice design language, with a darker and warmer interior inspired by the social energy of 12th Main. A deep grape-wine tone joins the brand's original Neapolitan blue, while patterned fabrics and tiled tabletops add warmth and texture. The 1,600 sq. ft. space uses clustered seating to create smaller areas for conversations, with the pizza oven counter and wine bar forming flowing volumes.
The space also features suspended artworks, recessed lighting, textured glass and a foyer leading towards the open-air balcony overlooking the trees along 12th Main.
“If the food is honest, the room cannot be pretending,” says Neeti Gokhalay Kheny, Co-Founder of Serious Slice. “Every choice, from the seating and sound level to the warmth of the light, is made in service of a meal that feels easy to stay with.”
The Indiranagar outlet marks the first Serious Slice location to serve wine. The wine menu has been created to complement the pizzas, with selections matched to the acidity of the tomato, richness of the cheese and character of the fermented dough.
The beverage menu also includes wine cocktails, thick shakes, coolers and smoothies, giving guests more options to enjoy alongside their meal. With its third Bengaluru outlet, Serious Slice continues to follow the same approach that has shaped the brand so far, 72-hour fermented dough, carefully chosen ingredients and pizzas that speak for themselves.
