The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced the appointment of Ms. Shanai St Bernard as the new Nautical Development Manager. In this key role, Shanai will lead efforts to strengthen Grenada’s position in regional and international yachting, cruise, and maritime tourism sectors.
Shanai has been with the GTA since 2017, taking on important roles including Marketing Executive for the German and Caribbean markets. She later managed the US market and was appointed USA Sales Manager in 2023, working from the North American office. Her extensive experience in tourism marketing, combined with a strong interest in marine and coastal development, equips her well for this new position.
During her time abroad, Shanai spearheaded creative sales and marketing campaigns that boosted Grenada’s brand visibility and built valuable partnerships. These initiatives helped raise awareness and visitor numbers from the US market.
Now back in Grenada, Shanai is eager to use her expanded knowledge and passion for the sea to promote the island as a top nautical destination. A certified PADI diver, she is dedicated to sustainable marine tourism, harbor improvements, and supporting Grenada’s blue economy.
“We are thrilled to have Shanai back leading this important sector,” said Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority. “Her experience and passion for the sea will drive fresh innovation and growth in our nautical tourism. We are confident she will make a strong impact.”
In her new role, Shanai will focus on enhancing Grenada’s cruise and yachting offerings, improving marina facilities, working closely with local partners, and positioning the island as a sustainable marine tourism hub in the Caribbean.
