Shangri-La Colombo has announced the appointment of Andreas Streiber as its new General Manager, effective immediately. The leadership transition comes as the luxury hotel continues to strengthen its positioning as one of Colombo’s most prominent urban hospitality destinations.

A seasoned hospitality professional, Streiber brings decades of global experience in upscale hotel operations, with a strong focus on guest engagement, operational excellence, and sustainable financial performance. Prior to this role, he served as General Manager of Shangri-La Bengaluru, where he played a key role in driving performance and service innovation.

Streiber’s association with Shangri-La Group spans over 25 years, during which he has held several senior leadership roles across China and India. His career also includes experience with internationally recognised brands such as Hyatt Hotels and Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, adding to his well-rounded operational expertise.

In his new role, Streiber will oversee the overall strategy and day-to-day operations of Shangri-La Colombo, with a focus on strengthening service standards, nurturing talent, and enhancing guest experiences.
