The Indian Chamber of Commerce has announced the Hospitality and Tourism Conclave 2026, set to take place in Siliguri, reinforcing Eastern India’s growing importance in the country’s tourism and hospitality landscape. The conclave aims to position the Eastern Himalayan corridor as the next major hub for sustainable and design-led tourism development.

The two-day industry gathering is expected to attract over 500 delegates, including hotel owners, hospitality brand leaders, tourism boards, developers, designers, food and beverage entrepreneurs, investors, and technology providers. The event will serve as a strategic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange at a time when Eastern India is witnessing increased travel demand and infrastructure development.

Key sessions at the conclave will focus on the future of tourism in Eastern India, emerging hospitality formats such as villas, hostels, and hybrid assets, owner-brand alignment, and direct booking and revenue strategies. Discussions will also explore the growing role of technology, artificial intelligence, OTAs, and digital platforms in shaping guest experiences and operational efficiency.

The agenda further includes panels on branding and design-led outcomes, the rise of regional hospitality brands, and scalable food and beverage business models. Curated networking opportunities and a gala awards evening are also planned to encourage industry engagement and partnerships.

Commenting on the initiative, Sumit Mitruka, Chairman, ICC Hospitality and Tourism Committee, said that Eastern India is at a pivotal stage in its tourism journey, with increasing demand for nature-driven, wellness-oriented, and design-focused travel. He added that the conclave aims to bring stakeholders together under a shared vision to accelerate the region’s growth and strengthen its national presence.

The event comes at a time when North Bengal, Sikkim, and the wider Eastern Himalayan belt are witnessing steady hotel development and infrastructure upgrades. Improved air connectivity and highway networks have enhanced year-round accessibility, laying a strong foundation for long-term tourism expansion.

Supported by the ICC North Bengal leadership, the conclave underlines the organisation’s commitment to positioning Eastern India as a national tourism powerhouse.
