In a powerful collaboration for environmental change, the Smiling Tree Foundation, led by Dr. Mukesh Kwatra, joined hands with Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology (GTBIT), Rajouri Garden, Delhi, for a large-scale plantation drive. Held with great enthusiasm, the initiative saw nearly 500 saplings being planted across the campus, reflecting a strong commitment to a greener tomorrow.
The event was graced by S. Amarjit Singh, Chairman of GTBIT, and Dr. Rominder Kaur Randhawa, Director of GTBIT, alongside Prof. Dr. P.P. Vermani and other senior faculty members. In a thoughtful gesture, planters were gifted to all participants by Smiling Tree.
While S. Harmeet Singh Kalka Ji, President of DSGMC, and S. Jagdeep Singh Khalon Ji, General Secretary of DSGMC, could not attend, they sent in their wishes and full support for the campaign’s success.
Dr. Randhawa, who played a key role in spearheading the initiative, emphasized,
“It is our responsibility to instill sustainable values in the next generation. We are proud to collaborate with Smiling Tree in nurturing not just trees, but a culture of environmental stewardship.”
Echoing the sentiment, Sardar Amarjit Singh called the initiative a form of selfless service, stating,
“Planting trees is a sewa — a selfless service to humanity and the environment. This drive is a reflection of our values and collective responsibility.”
Dr. Mukesh Kwatra, the visionary behind Smiling Tree, highlighted the importance of collective action and community-driven impact.
“At Smiling Tree, we believe in action backed by awareness. Every sapling planted today is a promise of a better tomorrow.”
The saplings planted included native, flowering, and fruit-bearing trees, carefully selected for their environmental and visual impact. This event marks yet another meaningful milestone in Smiling Tree’s mission to create greener, healthier spaces across Delhi-NCR and beyond.
