St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has made its debut in Hungary with the opening of The St. Regis Budapest, located within the iconic Klotild Palace in the heart of the city. Set close to the Danube and major attractions, the hotel brings new energy to one of Budapest’s most recognised landmarks, combining historic charm with modern luxury.

Klotild Palace, a Neo-Baroque structure from the Austro-Hungarian Golden Age, was commissioned by Her Imperial and Royal Highness Princess Klotild of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and designed by architects Flóris Korb and Kálmán Giergl. Known for its 48-metre tower and detailed architectural elements, the building once served as a key entry point to Pest and continues to hold cultural and historical importance as a protected UNESCO-listed site.

The hotel features 63 rooms and 39 suites, including the Klotild Tower Suite and a spacious Presidential Suite with views of the Danube, Elizabeth Bridge, and the Citadella. The design of the rooms reflects comfort and understated luxury, with details inspired by Hungarian traditions and the city’s connection to the arts, especially the Hungarian State Opera House. Guests also have access to the signature St. Regis Butler Service, known for its personalised approach.

Interiors across the hotel draw inspiration from the Danube River, with soft colours, flowing patterns, and finishes that reflect light and movement. Elements inspired by Hungarian bath culture, along with touches of Art Nouveau and Secessionist design, are seen throughout the property. A standout feature is the grand staircase at the entrance, designed with reflective surfaces, sculptural details, and a glass ceiling that adds to the visual experience.

The hotel also introduces a range of dining and social spaces. The St. Regis Bar offers a setting for evening gatherings with live music and signature cocktails, including The Crown Mary, inspired by the brand’s original Bloody Mary. 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant presents Japanese cuisine with a modern touch, while Klotild Patisserie serves a mix of Hungarian and French pastries along with artisanal coffee. Guests can also enjoy brand traditions like Afternoon Tea and Champagne Sabrage at the Atrium.

For wellness, The St. Regis Spa offers facilities including an indoor pool, hammam, sauna, and treatment rooms, with products from Sothys and Omorovicza. A fitness studio with modern equipment is also available on the upper floor.

Event spaces at the hotel include the John Jacob Astor Boardroom, three salons, and the Caroline Salon, catering to both business and social gatherings.

George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader of St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, said, "The St. Regis Budapest stands as a remarkable expression of architectural heritage, one that feels inherently aligned with the legacy of St. Regis. The Astors, our brand's founding family, were drawn to places where culture, society, and celebration converged, and Budapest embodies that spirit. Bringing the House of Astor to Klotild Palace is a natural extension of that legacy, introducing our signature rituals, legendary St. Regis Butler Service, and enduring glamour to one of Europe's most storied capitals, where every moment is designed to be celebrated."

With this opening, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its footprint in Europe, offering a destination that brings together heritage, design, and contemporary luxury in the heart of Budapest.
