Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited has announced the opening of Sterling Regalia Agra, strengthening its presence in one of India's most recognised heritage destinations and adding a new address to the Delhi–Agra–Jaipur Golden Triangle travel circuit.

Located 1.4 km from the Taj Mahal, the hotel provides access to Agra's iconic monument while also positioning itself as a base for exploring the city's wider heritage, cuisine, markets and traditional craftsmanship.

The opening forms part of Sterling's broader Destination Architect strategy, which focuses on developing properties around the role individual destinations play in a traveller's journey.

Commenting on the opening, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said that Agra's opportunity lies in encouraging travellers to stay longer and explore more of the destination beyond the Taj Mahal.

"Agra does not have a demand problem; it has a depth opportunity. The Taj brings the world to Agra. The opportunity for hospitality is to give travellers compelling reasons to stay longer, explore deeper and experience the city beyond its defining icon," he said.

He added that Sterling's approach in established destinations such as Agra is focused on creating experiences that connect individual attractions with wider travel circuits, including opportunities for leisure and bleisure travellers.

A Different Perspective on Agra

Sterling Regalia Agra features 36 contemporary rooms, a multi-cuisine restaurant, event spaces and leisure facilities designed for couples, families, business travellers and small groups.

One of the property's key features is its fourth-floor swimming pool, which offers views towards the Taj Mahal and provides an alternative perspective of the monument beyond conventional sightseeing.

A top-floor deck provides an intimate setting for private celebrations and special occasions, while the lobby-level Regalia Spices restaurant brings together flavours inspired by Awadhi, Mughlai and Braj cuisine, alongside international favourites.

The 40-cover restaurant offers both buffet and à la carte dining, drawing on the culinary traditions associated with the region.

Beyond the property, the hotel provides access to Agra's Mughal architecture, bazaars, local cuisine and traditional crafts, complementing the city's established monument-led tourism appeal.

Speaking on the opening, Capt. Brijesh Yadav and Dr. Rekha Yadav, Owners of Taj Regalia, said, "Our vision was to create an address that does justice to its location — close to one of the world's most celebrated monuments, yet with a character and experience of its own. Sterling brings strong hospitality expertise, reach and a destination-led approach."

They added that the partnership aims to ensure guests remember the property not only for its proximity to the Taj Mahal but also for their experience of Agra.

Strengthening Sterling's Travel Circuits

Agra adds another important destination to Sterling's growing portfolio and strengthens its ability to connect properties across established travel circuits.

As part of the Delhi–Agra–Jaipur Golden Triangle, Agra has a strong position within one of India's most established tourism corridors, attracting leisure travellers, families, couples, celebrations and groups.

For Sterling, the opening further develops its Destination Architect strategy, with the company positioning properties around the specific role destinations play within a traveller's itinerary.

The company currently operates across more than 67 destinations with over 3,900 operational keys, spanning heritage, leisure, nature and pilgrimage destinations across India.
