Sukoon Wellness Resort in Dakpathar, Uttarakhand, has taken a significant step forward in enhancing its wellness offerings with the addition of six Sugandh-themed Executive Cottages. Part of Stotrak Hotels, an experiential hotel chain, this expansion not only doubles the resort's capacity but also elevates its unique sensory experiences, solidifying Sukoon’s position in the wellness tourism sector.
The resort now offers a total of 12 cottages, comfortably accommodating over 40 guests, making it a perfect destination for larger gatherings such as family retreats, corporate events, and pre-wedding festivities.
A Sensory Journey with Sugandh Cottages
The new Executive Cottages are designed to be 25% larger than their predecessors, offering guests more space and an immersive wellness experience. Infused with natural aromas, these cottages create a serene and refreshing atmosphere that seamlessly blends with the surrounding scenic beauty of Uttarakhand. This sensory upgrade adds a fresh dimension to Sukoon’s wellness philosophy, making it a standout destination for travelers seeking relaxation and rejuvenation.
"These new cottages expand not just our capacity but also our commitment to offering an immersive, personalized experience," says Bani Sharma, Founder of Sukoon Resort. "The Sugandh theme brings a new sensory element to the Sukoon experience, engaging guests in a journey toward wellness."
Resort Highlights and Enhanced Offerings
In addition to the new cottages, Sukoon has upgraded several facilities to provide guests with a complete wellness experience. The resort now boasts an all-weather indoor swimming pool with chromotherapy, a separate kids' pool, steam and infrared saunas, and a variety of outdoor activities. Guests can enjoy farm-to-table dining experiences, including the Chef’s special Garhwali Thali, live Chullah cooking in Ras Rasoi, and unique experiences like high tea under a rainfall canopy and dining under the stars.
For nature lovers, Sukoon offers a wide range of activities such as bird watching, with over 300 species to spot, scenic river walks, and guided nature trails. Its proximity to Dakpathar Barrage and popular attractions like Tiger Fall, Gupt Sahastradhara, and Asan Barrage makes it a convenient and tranquil retreat for adventure seekers and wellness travelers alike.
Sustainability at the Core
Sukoon Wellness Resort continues to prioritize sustainability in its operations, focusing on eco-friendly practices and support for local communities. One standout initiative is the production of handmade soaps by women from nearby villages, contributing to both the local economy and a sustainable guest experience. Other eco-friendly measures include composting kitchen waste for use in the resort’s vegetable garden, reducing single-use plastics, and utilizing solar power for heating and outdoor lighting.
"We are committed to sustainable, guest-centric hospitality that aligns with the evolving preferences of today’s travelers," says Manish Goyal, Founder of Stotrak Hospitality Group. "These enhancements reflect our dedication to providing wellness, sustainability, and immersive natural experiences."
Ideal for All Occasions
With the resort’s expansion, Sukoon is now even more suited for corporate bookings, pre-wedding events, and family retreats. Guests can enjoy customized itineraries, wellness packages, and curated events, ensuring a truly personalized and immersive stay.

Melbourne has welcomed a new neighbour to its buzzing CBD with the opening of Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins. Part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ first dual-branded development in Australia, alongside the new Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall, the 179-room property blends heritage character with contemporary design to create a stay that’s uniquely Melbourne.
The hotel is built behind four carefully preserved heritage façades, Diamond House, the Public Benefit Bootery, Allan’s, and the York Building – weaving the stories of jewellers, bootmakers, and retailers into a vibrant new hospitality experience. Each Hotel Indigo property reflects its neighbourhood, and here, Melbourne’s layered history and laneway culture set the tone.
“The opening of Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins is a landmark moment for the revitalisation of Bourke Street Mall and surrounding laneways, and an opportunity for us to showcase exactly what the Hotel Indigo brand brings to Melbourne: a design-forward, neighbourhood-first experience,” shared General Manager, Scott Hamilton.
Developed by Steadfast Capital with interiors by global design firm Buchan and construction by Hickory, the property showcases a mix of intimate lobby spaces, interconnected areas, a courtyard, and dining destinations. Design nods to Melbourne’s past are everywhere – monkey motifs pay tribute to E.W. Cole’s famous Book Arcade, while a spiral staircase recalls Sidney Myer’s drapery store. Guests can also admire a three-storey Cabinet of Curiosities mural by Melbourne-based artist Lisa King, featuring symbolic nods to the city’s icons like the Australian Open and Queen Victoria Market.
Guest rooms at Hotel Indigo combine style with thoughtful details. From coin-inspired room numbers engraved with E.W. Cole quotes to terrazzo side tables made from recycled Skyy Vodka bottles, every element ties back to Melbourne’s story. Rooms are equipped with modern comforts such as Wi-Fi, Chromecast-enabled TVs, and locally sourced minibar offerings from Little Lon Gin Distillery. Guests can choose from standard and premium rooms, as well as balcony suites that open to views of Little Collins Street.
Beyond its rooms, Hotel Indigo offers amenities such as The Meeting Room for intimate gatherings, a fitness centre, and direct access to Melbourne Walk retail precinct, home to JD Sport’s largest Southern Hemisphere store and Pop Mart’s designer art toys. Its location puts guests within easy reach of the city’s arts, dining, and sporting attractions, with public transport at the doorstep and Melbourne Airport just 21 kilometres away.
With its opening, Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins not only adds a fresh chapter to IHG’s growing Australian presence but also brings a bold, design-led sanctuary that reflects Melbourne’s culture, history, and creativity. Guests booking the Opening Special can enjoy breakfast for two for just $1 extra on top of the best flexible rate.
