The Maldives, famous for its stunning beaches and clear waters, offers ideal surfing conditions for everyone, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Whether you’re looking to catch your first wave or tackle a world-class swell, the Maldives provides a range of waves that impress even the most experienced surfers.
At Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa, guests can either start their surfing journey in the calm lagoon with expert coaching or venture out on daily boat trips to the Maldives' most renowned surf spots.
This August and September, as the Maldives hits its peak surf season, the spotlight will be on Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa, which is hosting the 12th Annual Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy. Scheduled from August 29 to September 5, 2024, this event is recognized as the most prestigious surfing competition globally. The turquoise waters of Kuda Huraa will welcome some of the biggest names in surfing, including five-time World Champion and Olympic gold medallist Carissa Moore, Olympic medallist Owen Wright, South Africa’s Mikey February, France’s Jeremy Flores, Brazil’s Jadson Andre, and Maldivian surfer Ahmed “Ammaday” Agil. With a USD 25,000 prize at stake, this year's competition promises an unforgettable spectacle.
“For twelve years, the Surfing Champions Trophy at Kuda Huraa has showcased the Maldives as a premier surfing destination,” says Didier Jardin, General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. “The event’s reputation now precedes it and it’s great to hear how surfing legends can’t wait to compete here. We’re delighted to once again be welcoming an incredible line-up of not-to-be-missed talent. For guests keen to rub shoulders with surfing royalty, now’s the chance with just a few rooms at the resort still available during the contest.”
After a day on the waves, guests can unwind at The Island Spa, a peaceful retreat accessible by traditional dhoni. The Islander Massage, a full-body treatment that blends South Asian techniques like long strokes, pressure points, and stretching, offers the perfect way to soothe tired muscles while listening to the gentle sound of the ocean.
