Taj Hotels Partners with Ambuja Neotia Group for New Property in West Bengal

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), a hospitality firm listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), has recently signed a management contract for a new hotel in Raichak, West Bengal. The property, named Taj Ganga Kutir Resort & Spa, is owned by the Ambuja Neotia Group and marks their seventh collaboration in hotel management. The resort will feature 155 rooms and a spacious banqueting area spanning 70,000 square feet.

This addition brings IHCL's total number of hotels in the state to five, including brands like Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, and Ginger. Additionally, IHCL has five more hotels under development in West Bengal.

Puneet Chhatwal, the managing director and CEO of IHCL, expressed the significance of this property in extending its presence in West Bengal, which serves as a gateway to Northeast India. Chhatwal mentioned that the new hotel will capitalize on the region's commercial and tourism prospects while complementing their existing hotels in Kolkata and Darjeeling.

Chairman of the Ambuja Neotia Group, Harshavardhan Neotia, expressed satisfaction with the partnership and believes it will have a positive impact on tourism in the region. Raichak, situated along the banks of the Ganges River, is home to the Taj City Center New Town in Kolkata, also owned by the Ambuja Neotia Group.

In addition to this collaboration, IHCL recently announced the opening of a new Ginger hotel in Kochi, Kerala. With these developments, IHCL is strengthening its position in the Indian hospitality market.

Hilton has officially opened Hilton Hyderabad Genome Valley Resort & Spa, marking the brand’s entry into Hyderabad and expanding its footprint in South Asia. Strategically located in India’s Biotech Hub, the resort combines Hilton’s signature hospitality with a design inspired by Telangana’s rich Kakatiya architectural heritage.
