Taj Mahal, New Delhi, celebrated World Braille Day on January 4, 2025, by underscoring its dedication to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. Through thoughtful initiatives, the hotel continues to redefine luxury by creating spaces that are welcoming and empowering for all.
As part of its ongoing efforts, Taj Mahal, New Delhi, introduced menus in Braille across all its restaurants earlier this year. This initiative ensures guests can enjoy an independent and inclusive dining experience, reflecting the hotel’s philosophy of thoughtful hospitality.
Adding to these efforts, the hotel launched the Taj Swagat Manual, an induction guide for new colleagues available in Braille and supported by Indian Sign Language (ISL). This guide showcases Taj Mahal, New Delhi’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where every individual feels valued.
Anmol Ahluwalia, area director of operations and general manager at Taj Mahal, New Delhi, shared, “World Braille Day is a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusivity in every sphere of life, especially in hospitality. At Taj Mahal, New Delhi, we believe that true luxury lies in creating experiences where every individual feels valued and empowered. Our initiatives, from offering menus in Braille to introducing the Taj Swagat Manual, aim to inspire a culture of accessibility and respect.”
The hotel’s inclusivity initiatives align with Paathya, the sustainability and social impact framework of IHCL (Indian Hotels Company Limited). Paathya reflects IHCL’s dedication to driving meaningful change through environmental stewardship, heritage preservation, and social responsibility.
Taj Mahal, New Delhi, has also collaborated with organizations like NAB India Centre for Blind Women and Disability Studies. Initiatives such as the Blind Bakes Café, which equips visually impaired women with culinary and housekeeping skills, stand as a testament to the hotel’s mission of empowerment and opportunity creation.
Through these efforts, Taj Mahal, New Delhi, continues to set new standards for inclusive hospitality, ensuring luxury is accessible to all while championing a culture of respect and social impact.
