Taj Mahal, New Delhi, in partnership with NAB India Centre for Blind Women & Disability Studies, has introduced the Blind Bakes Cafe, an initiative focused on empowering visually impaired women through culinary and housekeeping skills training. This initiative marks a significant step towards inclusive hospitality and reaffirms Taj Mahal, New Delhi's dedication to social responsibility.
In a statement regarding the launch, Mr. Satyajeet Krishnan, Area Director – Operations and General Manager of Taj Mahal, New Delhi, highlighted the hotel's commitment to equality, inclusion, and sustaining livelihoods. The Blind Bakes Cafe not only provides training opportunities but also showcases the talents of visually impaired chefs in the hotel's associate dining room.
Founded in 2002, NAB India Centre for Blind Women & Disability Studies aims to empower women with visual disabilities. Through the Blind Bakes Cafe, Taj Mahal, New Delhi, challenges preconceptions and reveals the potential of individuals with visual impairments in the culinary industry.
The initiative is deeply rooted in IHCL's sustainability and social impact framework, known as Paathya, which embodies values of trust, awareness, and joy. Paathya reflects IHCL's commitment to positive change through environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and sustainable growth.
The Blind Bakes Cafe represents a beacon of inclusivity and empowerment, creating meaningful opportunities for visually impaired women and setting a new standard for social responsibility in the hospitality sector.
