The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Thai Digital Platform Social Enterprise Co., Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at bolstering Thailand's tourism through the advanced digital application, TAGTHAi. This collaboration sets TAGTHAi as a 'Super Aggregator Platform,' poised to revolutionise the travel experience for both local and foreign tourists in Thailand.
TAGTHAi: The One-Stop Travel App
TAGTHAi is being touted as the ultimate all-in-one Thailand application, catering to diverse travel needs and simplifying travel in Thailand. The app serves as a digital platform for local businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to showcase their products and services to a wider audience.
Strengthening Tourism Through Digital Innovation
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, highlighted the importance of TAGTHAi in the context of Thailand's tourism. “TAGTHAi reflects our commitment to promoting Thai soft-power elements and meaningful travel experiences. The MOU aligns with TAT's 2024 direction towards high-value and sustainable tourism growth,” she stated.
The MOU underscores the objectives of Thailand's national development plan, "Thailand 4.0", focusing on enhancing technology access and leveraging public-private data to boost competitiveness in the tourism sector.
A Data-Driven Approach to Tourism
Under this partnership, TAT will integrate TAGTHAi into its marketing activities and publicity channels. In return, TAGTHAi will provide TAT with crucial data intelligence on tourists' travel preferences, fostering data-driven connections between TAT’s online platforms and the TAGTHAi app.
Kalin Sarasin's Vision for Digital Tourism
Kalin Sarasin, Chairman of the Management Committee of Thai Digital Platform Social Enterprise Co., Ltd., emphasised the role of digital technology in tourism. “Our partnership with TAT will enable TAGTHAi to become the most comprehensive Super Aggregator Platform, maintaining Thailand's status as a world-class tourism destination,” he remarked.
The TAGTHAi app is available for download on the App Store and Play Store, offering tourists an enhanced and convenient way to explore Thailand. This strategic partnership between TAT and TAGTHAi represents a significant leap forward in Thailand's tourism industry, employing digital innovation to offer tourists a richer, more seamless travel experience.
