Bengaluru-based South Indian casual dining brand The Filter Coffee has made its airport debut at Kempegowda International Airport's Terminal 1, expanding beyond its neighbourhood restaurants through a partnership with Travel Food Services (TFS).
Opened on September 29, 2026, the new outlet is located near Gate 39 in the Domestic Departure Hall at Terminal 1. The launch marks The Filter Coffee's first move into an airport environment and expands its footprint to 11 outlets across Bengaluru.
Designed around the pace of airport travel, the new outlet follows a compact quick-service format while retaining an open seating area for travellers with more time before their flights. The format is intended to combine faster service with the brand's familiar South Indian dining proposition.
The brand's signature filter coffee remains at the centre of the menu, prepared in the same style as its Bengaluru restaurants. The outlet also offers vegan versions made with oat, almond and soya milk.
The food menu focuses on familiar South Indian dishes, particularly the brand's range of idlis. Options include classic steamed idlis, benne idlis and podi idlis, alongside vadas, rava upma and venn pongal.
For travellers looking for more substantial meals, the menu also includes vegetable biryani, curd rice and puliyogare.
Three exclusive combinations — TFC Classic Breakfast, TFC All-Day Tiffin Feast and TFC Biryani Meal, have been created for travellers seeking a more convenient meal. Each combo pairs a main dish with a beverage or dessert.
For The Filter Coffee, the airport opening represents both a business expansion and an opportunity to introduce its Bengaluru identity to a wider travelling audience.
Sankrit Iyer, Co-founder of The Filter Coffee, said, “We've always believed the airport was a big opportunity for us to bring The Filter Coffee to a much wider audience. I've had a long association with the airport through my earlier work, and it's been a personal dream of mine to see our brand find a home here. So we're genuinely excited to partner with Travel Food Services and take our first step into the airport with this new airport launch.”
Avinit Bagri, Co-founder of The Filter Coffee, said the outlet also reflects the brand's connection with Bengaluru and its coffee culture.
“For us, this is also about honouring the city and the heritage that has shaped our brand along the way. Bengaluru has always been at the centre of our journey, and the airport now gives us a wonderful platform to carry a bit of that Bengaluru experience to travellers coming in from across India and the world,” he said.
He added that the partnership with Travel Food Services could provide a platform for the brand's further expansion within the airport environment.
The airport launch has been developed in partnership with Travel Food Services (TFS), a travel food and beverage operator with a presence across airport dining environments in India.
The partnership combines The Filter Coffee's South Indian food proposition and Bengaluru identity with TFS's experience in operating food and beverage concepts designed for high-footfall travel locations.
The airport format also allows the brand to serve a wider mix of customers, including Bengaluru residents, domestic travellers and international visitors passing through the city.
The Filter Coffee is the flagship brand of WishVish Foods Private Limited. The brand began in 2014 with its first outlet in Kalyan Nagar, Bengaluru, and has since expanded across the city with full-service restaurants serving dine-in, takeaway and online delivery customers.
With its Terminal 1 opening, the brand is now adapting its South Indian casual dining proposition to an airport setting while retaining its focus on filter coffee and familiar regional food.
