The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa has recorded over 1.81 lakh virtual views and 3.4K high-intent visitors within 30 days of implementing Spalba's 3D Digital Twin platform, highlighting the growing role of immersive technology in the hospitality sector.

The development comes as destination weddings, luxury travel and MICE bookings increasingly begin with digital research. Hotels are exploring immersive technologies that allow travellers and event organisers to experience venues remotely before making booking decisions or planning physical site visits.

Located in Gulmarg, The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa has introduced Spalba's Digital Twin technology to provide interactive virtual walkthroughs of its guest rooms, banquet spaces and outdoor venues. The platform allows users to explore the property in near-physical detail, offering an experience beyond conventional image galleries and videos.

The strong engagement during the first month reflects growing interest in immersive venue exploration, particularly among destination wedding planners, corporate event organisers and leisure travellers who increasingly use virtual experiences to evaluate properties before making booking decisions.

Commenting on the initiative, AVP & General Manager Mr. Vinit Chhabra from The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa said, "Today's travellers expect to experience a destination before they book it. By offering an immersive digital journey, we are enabling guests and event planners to make more informed decisions while giving our sales team a more effective way to showcase the property's unique offerings."

According to Vishal Puri, Co-founder of Spalba, the hospitality sector is seeing a wider shift in how premium properties are marketed. "Luxury hotels are moving beyond static content towards immersive experiences that allow potential guests to interact with a property before they arrive. Digital Twins are becoming an important commercial tool, particularly for destination properties where buyers often evaluate venues remotely. The early results at The Khyber demonstrate how immersive technology can strengthen discovery, engagement and business outcomes."

Beyond customer engagement, Digital Twin technology can also support operational efficiency by reducing the need for multiple preliminary site visits. This enables hotel sales teams to engage with more qualified prospects while supporting more sustainable sales processes.

As hotels continue to digitise the guest discovery journey, the early results from The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa highlight how immersive technology is becoming a strategic tool for premium hospitality brands, helping improve visibility, strengthen booking intent and create more engaging customer experiences.
