The Pfister Hotel Unveils £20M Renovation Phase Two, Honoring Milwaukee's Legacy

The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, known for its luxurious accommodations and distinguished history, has initiated the second phase of its ambitious £20 million renovation. This phase focuses on updating the historic guest rooms, infusing them with modern amenities while paying homage to the hotel's storied past and the natural beauty of Lake Michigan.

Owned and managed by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, the Pfister Hotel, a AAA Four Diamond establishment, aims to blend its rich heritage with contemporary luxury. The renovation will see the guest rooms transformed with a color palette inspired by Lake Michigan, featuring serene blues and greens, new crown moulding, chair rails, and curated artworks that add to the hotel's extensive collection.

Guests will be treated to plush custom carpeting, furniture that nods to the late 1800s, and modern conveniences such as Nespresso machines and motion sensor lighting. Bathrooms will be completely revamped with modern fixtures and artwork reflecting Wisconsin’s history, enhancing the overall guest experience.

In a nod to its Milwaukee roots, the hotel will introduce custom wallcoverings in guest rooms and corridors, depicting native plants found around Lake Michigan. The corridors themselves will be adorned with custom Axminster carpeting, extending the waterfall art theme from the renovated ballrooms and adding to the immersive experience.

Original features like valets on guest room doors, US Mail chutes on every floor, and custom wood accents will be preserved, marrying the hotel's historical essence with contemporary aesthetics.

The next stage of the renovation will see the Pfister Hotel's lobby and first-floor public spaces revitalized. Plans include an updated color scheme, new carpet, and luxurious furnishings, alongside the restoration of the iconic domed ceiling. The Rouge Ballroom, a favored spot for weddings and events, will receive a makeover to accentuate its ornate features and crystal chandeliers with a neutral color palette.

While details on future phases remain under wraps, the ongoing renovation underscores the Pfister Hotel's dedication to maintaining its atmosphere of elegance and sophistication.
