The Secret Kitchen (TSK) in Vaughan, Ontario, has introduced an extensively revised food menu along with a new drinks programme, marking the restaurant’s first major menu evolution since opening in November 2024.

Founded by Chef Aanal Kotak, The Secret Kitchen opened its Vaughan restaurant on November 23, 2024, marking the brand’s first location in North America. The restaurant made its debut with a focus on Modern Indian Fusion cuisine, bringing together Indian culinary traditions with contemporary preparations.

Nearly two years after its opening, the restaurant has now reworked a majority of its food menu. Even some familiar dishes have been given new preparations and spice blends, reflecting Chef Kotak’s approach to treating spice blends as an important part of a dish’s identity. The new menu covers almost every section of the restaurant. The Chef’s Exclusive selection includes Dhokla Avocado Toast, Kunafa Dahi Cheese Kebab and TSK Moong Falafel.

The Veg Tandoori Appetizers now feature Thecha Paneer Tikka, Makhmali Paneer Tikka and Tandoor Ke Phool, while the Non-Veg Tandoori Appetizers include Chicken Seekh Lapeta, Tandoori Fish and Peri-Peri Prawn. The Indo-Chinese Plate brings together dishes such as Chilli Garlic Fish and Korean Chicken Lollipop. The Main Plate – Veg selection includes Buratta Makhani, Mushroom Do Pyaza, Kashmiri Malai Kofta and Nayab Baigan Masala. For non-vegetarian diners, the menu features Chicken Chettinad, Kali Mirch Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo.

The Sweet Plate adds Rabri Kunafa Gulab Jamun, Kesar Malai Shahi Tukda and KitKat Cream Mousse. While some dish names continue from the earlier menu, the restaurant says the dishes have been given new preparations and spice blends.

The new drinks programme is divided into three collections. The Zero Proof Collection includes non-alcoholic options such as Lilac Dew, made with lychee and lavender, and Delhi Summer, inspired by aam panna. The House Cocktails include favourites such as Espresso Martini and a build-your-own TSK Mojito, while the Signature Cocktails collection takes a more experimental approach.

Among the signature offerings is the Crème Brûlée Whiskey Sour, served with a crackling sugar crust, vanilla and citrus. The Emberflower combines smoky mezcal with elderflower and rosemary. The Saffron Negroni brings saffron into the classic cocktail, while The Long Pour combines whiskey infused with hot brown butter, clarified in-house, clear ice and coffee-stout foam. The full menu continues to be Halal.

The restaurant is also expanding its private event and catering services. Previously limited to its own banquet space, which can accommodate 35 to 40 guests, private events can now also be catered off-site for groups of 20 to 70 people. The Vaughan restaurant is part of The Secret Kitchen’s wider international growth. The brand has locations across India, Australia, Canada and the United States, with its newest restaurant in Schaumburg, Illinois, marking its first location in the US.

Chef Aanal Kotak’s culinary philosophy continues to be influenced by his grandmothers and their royal Indian cooking traditions. The new menu builds on this foundation while bringing contemporary preparations and flavours to diners in the Greater Toronto Area.

The Secret Kitchen’s Vaughan restaurant is located at 16 Famous Ave, Unit #142, Vaughan, ON L4L 9M3.
