The Swinton House has opened in Kolkata, introducing a contemporary hospitality destination that brings together dining, cocktails, art and nightlife within a 150-year-old colonial property. Combining the character of its historic setting with a diverse food and beverage offering, the venue blends heritage architecture with modern dining and social experiences.
Leading the culinary concept is Corporate Chef Prince Beniwal, whose menu brings Indian culinary traditions together with global influences, covering Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern and European cuisines.
Speaking about the concept, Corporate Chef Prince Beniwal said, “At The Swinton House, our vision was to create a menu that respects the depth of Indian culinary traditions while embracing influences from across the world. We wanted familiar flavours to meet contemporary techniques and unexpected combinations, giving guests the opportunity to explore different cuisines within one dining experience. The historic character of the property adds another dimension to this journey, allowing us to bring together heritage, creativity and modern hospitality.”
The menu features a range of creative dishes, including Dabeli Wheels, Samosa Prank, Bloom Bhalla, Thepla al Fungo, Kolkata-Style Street Chilli Paneer, Avocado Galouti and Tangy Kasundi Paneer Tikka.
The non-vegetarian selection includes Laal Maas Uttappam, Ghee Roast Prawns and British Boti, alongside Adana Kebab and Turkish Fattir and Pide. Guests can also explore Asian and European options, including Bao and Dimsum, Sushi, an Oriental Make-Your-Own Bowl, pasta and European mains.
Complementing the food menu is Swinton’s Pour House, the venue’s cocktail destination. Its beverage selection features Sassy Jamun, Mango Tango, Kaizen, Kingsmaker Highball and Red Eye Flight, combining global spirits with locally sourced ingredients.
Beyond dining and beverages, The Swinton House brings art and nightlife into its hospitality concept. The 150-year-old colonial property provides a historic backdrop for a contemporary social destination where guests can enjoy food, drinks and cultural experiences under one roof.
With Corporate Chef Prince Beniwal leading its culinary direction, The Swinton House adds a new destination to Kolkata’s hospitality landscape, combining heritage architecture, diverse culinary influences and creative cocktails.
