Hospitality industry veteran Manoj Mathew has launched his book The World Is Carried Within in Bengaluru on 3 September 2026, bringing together decades of professional experiences, memorable encounters, and personal reflections from his journey through the hospitality industry.

The book comprises 18 literary essays, each beginning with an original wildlife photograph captured by Mathew across the forests of Coorg and Nagarahole, the pilgrimage coast of Gokarna, and the shoreline of Bentota, Sri Lanka.

The photographs serve as starting points for wider reflections on nature, human behaviour, organisations, leadership, and the inner life, creating a connection between Mathew's experiences in hospitality and his observations of the world beyond the workplace.

Through the essays, The World Is Carried Within brings together professional memories and personal observations gathered over decades in the hospitality sector. The book offers readers an insight into the people, experiences and encounters that have shaped Mathew's perspective on the industry and life.

The Bengaluru launch brought together members of the hospitality, travel and tourism fraternity, along with industry colleagues, friends and well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate the book and Mathew's contribution to the hospitality industry.

The launch also featured conversations and interactions with industry personalities, including Ian Faria, who was photographed in conversation with Mathew during the event.

Among those present were Shruti Shibulal, Executive Vice Chair, Tamara Leisure Experiences, and S. D. Shibulal, Chairman, Tamara Leisure Experiences and Co-Founder, Infosys, who joined Mathew at the book launch.

With hospitality forming the foundation of his professional journey and wildlife photography providing a visual starting point for each essay, The World Is Carried Within brings together two of Mathew's enduring interests to present a collection of reflections on leadership, people, organisations and the experiences that shape us.
