Nestled in the serene environment of Maharashtra's Tipeshwar Forest, a new luxury destination, Tipai by Wildlife Luxuries, has recently opened its doors. Founded by Keyur Joshi, known for his pioneering role in the travel and tourism industry as the co-founder of Make My Trip, Tipai is an embodiment of luxury merged with the wild. Spread across a sprawling 34-acre expanse on the periphery of Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, this unique retreat offers an unmatched experience for those seeking both comfort and an intimate connection with nature.
Tipai by Wildlife Luxuries redefines conventional tourism by providing personalised and thoughtful experiences that go beyond the typical packaged holiday. Joshi's extensive background in tourism and his passion for wildlife and travel fuel this venture, aiming to break new ground in eco-tourism. The sanctuary boasts plush villas and private pool residences, all designed with an exquisite touch by principal designer Ariane Thakore Ginwala.
The property's commitment to sustainability and local culture is evident in every aspect of its design. Emphasising localization, the resort features handcrafted details created exclusively by local artisans and boutique brands. The focus on low-impact construction, in collaboration with the Institute of Village Sciences, is a testament to Tipai's dedication to environmental conservation. This approach extends to the landscaping, which not only preserves but enriches the forest's biodiversity, countering the effects of previous teak plantations through reforestation and permaculture initiatives.
The interior design of the villas at Tipai is a continuation of this sustainable philosophy. Interiors are adorned with handwoven Indian wool dhurries, organic cotton textiles, and sheer curtains printed with real indigenous leaves of the region, all designed to harmonise with the natural surroundings. The terracotta roofs, crafted by local potters, and fabrics woven for the region's specific climate further celebrate the local craftsmanship and environment.
Culinary experiences at Tipai by Wildlife Luxuries are equally impressive, featuring a variety of F&B offerings from Perch to Wadi, including Palaash by chef Amninder Sandhu, the F&B partner at Wildlife Luxuries. At Palaash, Chef Sandhu focuses on empowering local women by incorporating their skills into the menu, thus giving back to the community in a meaningful way.
Tipai by Wildlife Luxuries is more than just a luxury retreat; it's an initiative that aligns luxury with ecological responsibility and cultural sensitivity. It stands as a beacon of how tourism can be transformed to benefit both the environment and the local community, all while providing an unparalleled experience for discerning travellers.
