Bangalore's MURO is set to host an exclusive bar collaboration with Tokyo's renowned SG Club on August 23rd and 24th, offering a unique opportunity for guests to experience authentic Japanese cocktail culture. The SG Club, led by the iconic Shingo Gokan, is celebrated globally for its craftsmanship and artistry, holding the record for the most awards from "The World's 50 Best Bars" and "Asia's 50 Best Bars," with a remarkable 50 cumulative honors. Currently ranked No. 24 on Asia's 50 Best Bars in 2024, the SG Club's visit is highly anticipated.

For two nights, MURO will be transformed into a Japanese-style cocktail bar, creating an immersive cultural exchange that goes beyond a typical bar takeover. This event will celebrate the precision, tradition, and creativity that define Japanese mixology. Central to the experience will be "Omotenashi," the Japanese art of hospitality, which will guide the MURO team as they welcome guests on these special evenings.

The Japanese Cocktail

Visitors to MURO can look forward to #InTheHouse, an event on the mezzanine deck where Japan and India's cocktail cultures will blend seamlessly. The drinks menu will feature fresh, seasonal ingredients prepared with meticulous skill and a local twist, including flavors like shiso and yuzu. Guests can expect a mix of fizzy, sweet-and-sour concoctions with herby, boozy undertones, all highlighting indigenous ingredients from specific regions of Japan.

Connoisseur's Negroni

Reoma Mita, the Head Mixologist at SG Club, will lead the event, introducing guests to the techniques and traditions that make Japanese cocktails so distinctive. From the iconic Hard Shake to jewel-cut ice spheres, every detail will reflect the refined hospitality and deep cultural roots of Japanese bartending. Mita will also share stories from Tokyo's hidden bars, offering insights into the history and evolution of Japanese cocktails.
