Tribe Student Accommodation and CoLiving is embarking on a significant expansion with the introduction of a hybrid hospitality segment, aiming to enhance co-living spaces across Pune and Indore. Currently operating close to 500 beds in Mumbai and Pune, Tribe has ambitious plans to broaden its presence across Pune, enter the Indore market, and add 5000 beds by 2026.

This expansion comes at a time when the 'co-living' market in India is projected to grow substantially, reaching nearly USD 40 billion with a 17 percent CAGR over the next five years, according to a report by JLL India. Tribe aims to capitalize on this growth and secure a considerable share of the market.

With a focus on catering to diverse demographics, including corporates, leisure travelers, and professionals seeking flexible accommodation options, Tribe is adapting its offerings to meet evolving consumer needs. By shifting to an operator model (OPM Model), Tribe aims to foster mutually beneficial partnerships with real estate players, prioritizing long-term sustainability and profitability.

Yogesh Mehra & Shantam Mehra, Founders of Tribe Stays, emphasized the importance of transparency and collaboration in their expansion strategy, aiming to maximize property potential while providing customers with a quality living experience. This customer-centric approach aligns with Tribe's philosophy of offering flexibility, quality, and community-driven spaces enhanced by innovative technology.

Aman Mehra, CMO of Tribe Stays, highlighted the surging demand for short-term stays in the INR 3000-5000/night range, underscoring Tribe's commitment to meeting this demand with its unique design, quality offerings, and focus on community building.

Tribe plans to deploy new funds for property expansion, technology enhancements, and operational improvements as it targets a substantial increase in its bed capacity over the next 18-24 months. With expansion plans spanning major cities like Pune, Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Indore, and Bangalore, as well as travel and religious destinations, Tribe is poised for significant growth and innovation in the hospitality industry.
