The landscape of business travel in India is poised for a transformation with the launch of Tumodo, an innovative B2B travel platform. Opening its doors in Bengaluru, Tumodo is set to cater to the burgeoning demand for seamless, cost-effective business travel solutions in India, a country experiencing a significant upswing in 'bleisure' travel—where business trips are extended for leisure purposes.
India, currently the 9th largest market globally for business travel spending, is on a rapid growth trajectory, with spending expected to hit USD 38.2 billion by 2024 and USD 49.5 billion by 2027. Tumodo's strategic foray into this expanding market is timed to capture a considerable market share, targeting a 5% stake by 2027.
Founded in 2023 and fresh off a successful pre-seed funding round, Tumodo's advanced AI-driven platform offers an array of features designed to streamline the travel booking process. The platform facilitates access to over 400 airlines and 2 million accommodation options, ensuring that businesses can secure the best deals, with an average saving of 35% on travel expenses.
"We're thrilled to bring Tumodo's cutting-edge technology to the Indian market, a region ripe with opportunities," says Vladimir Kokorin, Co-Founder of Tumodo. "Our platform not only simplifies travel bookings but also enables companies to allocate more focus on their core operations, enhancing overall productivity."
The global tourism sector's resurgence is evident, with travel and tourism revenues expected to increase by 8.3% in 2024, reaching almost USD 930 billion—the highest figure ever recorded in the industry. Tumodo's entry into India is part of this global wave of recovery and growth in the travel sector.
With over 100 partnerships already established in the MENA region and an eye on the burgeoning bleisure trend in India, Tumodo is well-positioned to meet the nuanced needs of the modern business traveller. As business travel expenses in Central Asia Pacific countries are projected to exceed pre-Covid levels by 20% in 2027, Tumodo's arrival in India is a timely and strategic move to capitalise on this upward trend.
