United Airlines is pioneering the future of in-flight entertainment and communication with the rollout of its Bluetooth-enabled planes. In collaboration with Apple, United has enhanced the in-flight experience, making it more seamless and interactive for passengers and crew alike. This advancement is part of United Next, the airline’s ambitious initiative to modernize and expand its fleet.

The Bluetooth Evolution:

Over 100 United aircraft are now equipped with Bluetooth technology, a number projected to reach around 800 by 2032. This technological integration allows passengers to pair their AirPods Pro directly with United's seatback screens, unlocking a world of content without the need for wired headphones.

AirPods Pro - A Game Changer:

The new AirPods Pro features, including Conversation Awareness and Adaptive Audio, are tailored to enhance passenger experience. Conversation Awareness lowers the volume when passengers speak, facilitating effortless interactions with flight attendants. Adaptive Audio, on the other hand, balances transparency mode and active noise cancellation according to the surrounding noise level, ensuring optimal audio quality.

A Seamless Experience:

United's Chief Information Officer, Jason Birnbaum, underscored the revolutionary impact of integrating wireless connectivity and AirPods Pro features. It not only amplifies passengers' in-flight entertainment experience but also streamlines the communication between the crew and passengers.

Pairing Made Easy:

United passengers can easily connect their Bluetooth headphones by selecting the Bluetooth icon on the seatback screen monitor, ensuring the headphones are not connected to other devices, and choosing their device from the available list, marking a move towards a wireless and clutter-free travel experience.

United & Apple - A Decade of Innovation:

United's relationship with Apple has consistently enhanced the customer experience. The airline deployed the first paperless flight deck with iPad in 2011 and rolled out over 120,000 Apple devices to employees for real-time connection. United also introduced live activities support for its app on iPhone, marking another industry first.

Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) has made a powerful debut at VivaTech 2025, Europe’s premier startup and tech showcase, by leading a delegation of 18 of Hong Kong’s most promising innovators in AI, robotics, healthtech, greentech, and fintech.

The delegation was hosted at the Hong Kong Tech Pavilion, co-organised with Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), highlighting a unified effort to bridge the innovation ecosystems of Hong Kong and France.

This milestone participation marks HKSTP’s mission of taking home-grown talent global and bringing international opportunities back to Asia. VivaTech provided an ideal launchpad to form meaningful partnerships and adapt breakthrough technologies for evolving global markets.

Standout Innovations from Hong Kong at VivaTech 2025:

  • Ailytics: Winner of the EDF Startup Challenge and named among the Top 30 VivaTech Innovations, thanks to its AI-powered video analytics for safety and efficiency in heavy industries.

Founded in 1938, Kiğılı has built a solid presence in the menswear space with over 180 stores in Türkiye and more than 50 points of sale across 15 countries. With customers shopping across a mix of physical stores, e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, and wholesale channels, Kiğılı sought a digital solution to optimize its planning operations.
