voco Jim Corbett, India’s first voco hotel by IHG Hotels & Resorts, has announced the appointment of key leadership roles across various departments. The new leadership team includes Suprabhath Roy Chowdhury as General Manager, Raghvendra Pratap Singh as Director of Sales, Tenzin Losel as Executive Chef, Girish Mamgain as Operations Manager, Ahmed Faisal as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, and Surender Singh as Front Office Manager.

Suprabhath Roy Chowdhury, General Manager: With an illustrious career spanning 24 years, Suprabhath Roy Chowdhury has excelled in senior roles across prestigious hotel chains in India. He previously served as the General Manager at Holiday Inn Mayur Vihar, New Delhi. At voco Jim Corbett, he will lead the positioning and operational excellence of IHG Hotels & Resorts' first voco property in India, focusing on exceptional guest experiences, innovative service standards, and sustainable practices.

Raghvendra Pratap Singh, Director of Sales: Singh brings 18 years of diverse experience in the hospitality industry, specializing in hotel sales. He joined the IHG family 4.5 years ago and has worked at Holiday Inn Gurugram from 2020 to 2024. His skills include leadership, strategic sales, business development, MICE & Weddings sales, client relationship management, and new client acquisition.

Tenzin Losel, Executive Chef: As the opening Executive Chef at voco Jim Corbett, Tenzin Losel brings 24 years of culinary experience. He has been instrumental in supervising kitchen operations, designing menus, training staff, and ensuring customer satisfaction. His expertise spans a broad range of cuisines, from traditional Indian to international flavors. Committed to quality and hygiene, he prioritizes immersive culinary experiences through collaborative efforts.

Girish Mamgain, Operations Manager: Mamgain is a seasoned hospitality professional with 24 years of extensive experience. His career includes notable tenures as Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and General Manager at Corbett Aamod Resort & Spa. He excels in project management, hotel openings, and team leadership, and is proficient in business, finance, and data analysis. His dedication and diverse expertise highlight his commitment to excellence in hospitality management and guest satisfaction.

Ahmed Faisal, Assistant Food and Beverage Manager: Faisal has 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with over 12 years at IHG. He began as an F&B Executive in 2005 and worked as a Restaurant Manager from 2015 to 2019 before joining voco Jim Corbett. Faisal is recognized for thoughtful enhancements to elevate the guest experience and is skilled in driving business growth through strategic partnerships, financial planning, and effective leadership.

Surender Singh, Front Office Manager: Singh brings 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with 5.5 years at IHG. He is adept at managing and developing teams to achieve high performance, compliance with regulations, and exceptional guest service standards. As Front Office Manager, he has overseen operational budgets, conducted late-night audit operations, and prepared financial reports.

With over 13 years of experience in hospitality sales and business development, Singh brings a strong track record of driving revenue growth, identifying new business opportunities, and building long-term client relationships across corporate and MICE segments.

He joins from The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore, where he served as Director of Catering and played a key role in managing high-impact events while improving catering performance. His journey with the brand also included roles such as Assistant Director of Sales and Senior Sales Manager, reflecting his steady growth and deep understanding of market trends.

Singh’s experience also includes working with leading hospitality brands like Radisson Blu Atria Bengaluru and The Park Hotels, giving him a well-rounded perspective on sales leadership in urban markets.

In his new role, he will lead the property’s sales strategy with a focus on driving growth, strengthening corporate relationships, and expanding market share. Amrut Distilleries has elevated Ashok Chokalingam to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) & Master Distiller. This move reflects the company’s focus on aligning its global strategy with technical expertise as it continues to grow its presence in the premium whisky segment.

The role has been introduced to bring together international marketing and distillation under one leadership, recognising Chokalingam’s ability to bridge both areas. His journey with Amrut has played a key role in taking Indian single malt whisky to global audiences while shaping the brand’s craft and innovation.

Over the years, he has been closely involved in global tastings, masterclasses, and industry interactions, building a deep understanding of consumer preferences across markets. These insights have directly influenced experimentation at the distillery, from cask selection and maturation techniques to blending styles and flavour profiles.

His approach connects feedback from international markets back into production, ensuring that every innovation remains relevant and purposeful. This has helped Amrut maintain a balance between traditional craftsmanship and evolving global tastes.

This leadership change marks a new phase for the company, with a sharper focus on integrating operations and brand direction. It is expected to drive innovation in distillation and blending, while strengthening the global positioning of Indian single malts.

He has also received multiple global recognitions, including ‘Whisky Ambassador of the Year’ and ‘Master Distiller / Blender of the Year’ by Whisky Magazine.

The Leela Gandhinagar has appointed Abhishek Singh as Director of Operations, adding to its leadership team as it continues to focus on delivering high standards of luxury hospitality.

With over 16 years of experience in the industry, Singh brings strong operational expertise and a consistent track record in enhancing guest experiences. In his new role, he will oversee the hotel’s day-to-day operations, with a focus on service excellence, performance optimisation, and strengthening the brand’s personalised approach to hospitality.

Before this, he was associated with The Leela Mumbai as Executive Assistant Manager - Rooms, where he played a key role in improving operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. His journey within the Leela group also includes leadership roles at The Leela Palace Udaipur, managing areas such as front office, housekeeping, wellness, and guest experience.

Known for his hands-on and people-focused approach, Singh has built strong teams while maintaining high service standards. He has also been recognised with the ‘Front Office Manager of the Year’ award by BW Hotelier and has consistently delivered strong guest satisfaction scores.

An alumnus of IHM Ahmedabad, he combines academic knowledge with practical experience. He is also certified in the LEAD Program and Train The Trainer, and has contributed to talent development initiatives within the organisation.
